Located upstairs. Comfy setting. Chose appetizers only. Maritime Mussels fresh with vibrant chorizo/onion broth. Scallop Ceviche "Out of This World"! See menu description. Crab Cake Rangoon least favorite, still tasty but not used to this preparation. Oysters Rockefeller fresh and classic preparation. Server Sydney (sp) attentive,knowledgeable and friendly. Surprise complimentary delicious dessert capped off a wonderful experience. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Waitress was fantastic, forgot to get her name. I had lobster dinner. Lobster was chewy and flavourless. Potatoes described as confit but were just plain boiled potatoes. Disappointing meal overall.

Despite the food restrictions I’m dealing with, the chef made some delicious vegetables as a side to the lobster that surpassed my hopes. Best restaurant meal I’ve had in a long time since so many food options are off the menu for me. Laura was a fantastically kind and attentive server. Thank you, all!

Nous avons séjourné à Halifax durant 3 jours et après avoir mangé les meilleurs fish&ship du mond au Salty’s, nous avions envie d’une table plus raffinée mettant en valeur les produits de la mer. Nous avons été comblés par le Five Fisherman. Deux entrées, deux repas principal et une bouteille de vin pour 213,00$. Super service et ambiance raffinée sans trop.

We had wonderful service from beginning to end and very much enjoyed the ambiance and look of the restaurant. The raw oysters we had for starters were delicious; however, our main meals left something to be desired. We had the 5 fisherman experience and the shrimp & mussels ziti. While the sea food on both dishes was very fresh, the dishes lacked flavour. The portions could have been larger as well. The dessert selection was poor and the presentation was weak.

We had an outstanding experience at the 5 Fishermen. Laura was exceptional, she was thoughtful, knowledgable, funny, bubbly and efficient. She went above and beyond to welcome us and make our dinner so memorable. We are visiting from Toronto and would highly recommend everyone to go to 5 Fishermen and have Laura as their server. A meal and evening that has marked our amazing trip to Halifax! Velia Scorziello

Beautiful restaurant with many different rooms. Acoustics were good as tables were spaced well apart. Had romaine and pork belly starter which was delicious albeit not a salad! My husband got the trout which was delicious. I had lobster which was very good. The service was slow. Not the waiter but the kitchen. As other reviewers commented we were offered free bread (biscuits or focaccia) to tide us over. The biscuits were fair and came with a strange tasting compound butter. It was nice but I wouldn’t recommend for the price. There are better spots.

Over priced, under seasoned, poor service. Don’t recommend. There are other restaurants nearby with better food at a lower price point.

Our entire experience at the Five Fishermen was absolutely incredible. The food was incredible we had a beef tartare that blew our minds and shared a five fish dish and lobster risotto which again was unbelievably good. We’d also like to give an extra shout out to our server Laura who went so far above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. 5 out of 5 we will be back again
