   The staff were very friendly and the service was superb. We had one of the specials as recommended by our server, and it was delicious (Japanese Chicken Chuka Tare). It was lovely and relaxed - and would highly recommend.

   We have lived in Ely for four years and never once been to Poets house or heard about it. We've been missing out! We went for lunch and had the set lunch menu, we both had the Prawn Saganaki to start, the prawns were so fresh and the dish was really tasty. For mains i had the burger which was homemade and delicious, the only thing i would say is the bun was slightly stale. My wife had the herb coated fish and chips which again was delicious, i then had the signature sticky toffee pudding for desert which was amazing. Three courses for £29, cant go wrong. Our server was very polite, presentable and chatty. The restaurant is beautiful.We did not go into the bar area but we will definitely be going back, cannot recommend this place enough.

   We have eaten at Poets House twice now. It is always a treat to come to eat here. A special occasion venue. We both had rare steak and they were cooked to perfection. It was a Sunday evening and we were one of three tables occupied. It was so lovely to have a belated valentines date in a quiet intimate setting. Working in hospitality it was lovely to be in a quieter atmosphere than I am accustomed to working in. And so lovely to be looked after instead of being the one looking after customers. Thank you also for the complementary 2 glasses of Dessert wine to go with the sticky toffee pudding. Thank you for such a wonderful evening and for arranging the taxi for us back to Littleport. 9/10 - only downside was the crumble was gone but not an issue. Thank you all.

   We shared a delicious meal at Poets House. Cooking was to a high standard and all our dishes were excellent. Our only point for improvement would be to the dessert menu which wasn’t quite as good as the other items, but it’s a minor point. Recommend.

   Overall atmosphere and seating were great, our waitress was friendly and attentive and the food was very good. Couldn’t fault anything. We’ll definitely come back

   Wonderful service - the staff simply cannot do enough for you - very friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. The food was delicious and in generous portions. Highly rated!

    Took a while to get served in the bar. Lovely waitress in the restaurant. The Salmon wellington was amazing. Potatoes were good. Broccoli was too hard though. The ginger cake and ice cream was delicious. Enjoyed the Tempranillo red wine and the Pornstar martini cocktail.
