For all of the history and cozy Hunterdon County vibe that Clinton House brings, the food just isn’t prepared well enough to warrant the price tag. Beef Wellington: filet came perfectly cooked inside, but the pastry was undercooked and lackluster at best. Sauce that came with it was flavorless and was too thick to enjoy. Broccoli au gratin was flavorless and the mashed potatoes were cold and under seasoned. Wife got a filet 6oz which she said was good. Everything came ala carte so the sides mentioned above were an extra $12 & &10. Would have been satisfied if everything ordered was of the quality you expect for a $75 meal. I almost forgot, we ordered a homemade tiramisu. Apparently the bartender has a business making this with a family recipe. It was perfect on every level. Waitress was great, knowledgeable and had history. Decor was dated yet charming as if you stepped into a decade of the past. Brick and wood authentic wood beams with fireplace central to the main dining area were worth experience to some degree, but the value of the food to price ratio was the deal breaker for us. See you in another couple of years when we hope the food improves greatly.

We had our reservation, and I called to confirm that they would be serving their prime rib (only served Fridays thru Sunday). We arrived on time, actually a bit early and after we were seated, we were told they were out of the prime rib. As this is one of our favorite restaurants, we were sadly disappointed.

The Manhattan clam chowder and eggplant Parm were by far the best I've had anywhere in many years. I know I won't experience those flavors anywhere else. Great dinner

It was a wonderful experience as usual. The food was prepared perfectly and the service was amazing. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful night out.

Outstanding and Professional in every aspect. Greeted by Chrissy upon arrival, taken to a perfect table immediately. Gigi, attendant, was very courteous and attentive. We were not rushed in any way. Food was delicious, perfectly prepared.

The food at the Clinton House was delicious. They sat us next to the fireplace which was amazing. We had a wonderful experience.

Great food and wine and one of my favorite places to stop for dinner because I love how old it is (1743). My husband and I always try to have dinner at the Clinton House when we are in North Jersey. He had seafood newburg which he loved and I had prime rib which was a very large portion. All of our food was fantastic and we had an excellent Pinot Noir as well. Highly recommend The Clinton House, it’s especially beautiful in the Fall and Christmas.
