Great Sunday roast. Staff gentle and professional. Great location for spending time with family and friends. Surely will come back again.

Unfriendly and took a while to be served despite being the only person at the bar. Also served a frothy pint, quite a lot under a full pint

Food and the service were excellent. The menu had a good selection as was the wine choices. The pub itself is a great venue with views over the river.

Not like our usual visits at all. Understaffed in kitchen and table service as everything was slow and mostly miserable/hassled. The chicken Kiev must have been bought in as it was unattractive and dry. Very disappointing that the good weather appears to have caught them unawares. The Swan is now far superior and our new ‘go-to’.

I'm sorry we didn't quite get things right this time, the hot weather triples our seating area so innevitably leads to pinch points even when we have extra staff on. Our home made chicken kyivs do take a while to cook as well, so apologies again if this led to the impression the kitchen was understaffed. The finite cooking equipment and space means that when a lot of people order at the same time delays can occur. We're fortunate that the overwhelming majority of our guests realise this.

Pubs that only take payment by card should have this writ LARGE on their door and on their menus! Why wait until it comes to time to pay the bill to say "I'm sorry, we only take payment by card"? Well I'm sorry, I only make payment by cash. I understand the benefits of only taking card payments but they should make this clear before they take orders otherwise it leads to an embarrassing experience at the end of an otherwise pleasant afternoon. For this sole reason I will never return and I will never recommend.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. Indeed, we do prefer payment by card, but can certainly accept cash in an emergency or if no other method of payment is possible, which is why you were able to pay by cash. Going predominantly cashless has meant the business is far more secure and team feel safer at the end of the night, but we do appreciate that certain guests don't have access to card payments.
