Good service, decent roast (arrived hot). Lovely Tempranillo. Nice ambience. Broader dessert menu would give it the 5 stars and a sharper knife!

Wonderful roast dinner - especially the cheesy leeks side. Very friendly and attentive staff. Great whisky sour and amaretto sour. Would come back!

Good food, but a bit lacking in service and experience. Wouldn't be surprised if Michelin downgrades the restaurant at next review. There are restaurants in Bath that have similar rankings that offer better service and value for money. But food was good.

We had the Sunday roast. Being from USA, we had not tried that & wanted the experience. At Chequer’s it was awesome. We were warmly greeted by the bartender, seated at an excellent corner table in a very atmospheric room, got good wine advice regarding an Italian wine I was unfamiliar with, & then proceeded to order 2 roasts, one beef & one pork. Service was excellent, food was fabulous (both of us cleaned our plates), & finished with a truly excellent Pavlova. Highly recommended!

A great experience at The Chequers. Service was fantastic, food fabulous and the place was busy and buzzing without being crowded and noisy. Will definitely be back.

This lovely restaurant is off the hustle and bustle of the town centre but SO worth a visit. We arrived for our reservation at 8.45pm and the restaurant was quietly buzzy ! Lovely gastropub decor ( it’s a restaurant only l believe ? Not a pub ) the staff were attentive and cheerful and we opted for bread and butter ( huge portions of fresh bread and herby butter ) and anchovies as starters …both delicious. We then chose steak and plaice, both appearing freshly cooked, with delicate additions ..the steak a sauce and vine tomatoes and the fish, baby shrimps and capers - accompanied by fresh chunky chips. We were so happy and full we didn’t have room for dessert but had a mocktail each ( we asked as this wasn’t on the drinks menu but was met with an immediate “sure , we can do that !” ) which was presented beautifully with mint and fruit . The portions were very generous and the standard high ! On an overnight stay from our home in central London so we’re pleasantly surprised at the bill ! Great value and excellent food. We will visit again.

Great food and good value for money. Was disappointed they couldn't be bothered to make any mocktails - offered to give tomato juice or virgin Bloody Mary - yuk. Ordered the fish with gnocchi and crispy kale - while a good dish there was one tiny piece of kale. Had high expectations given the rating of the restaurant. Companions liked their steak and tempura courgette flowers a lot. Overall would recommend it.
