We frequent The Capital Grille in Chesnut Hill about 4 times a year. Typically, everything is excellent including service, ambiance, and delicious food. Last night however, the food was way off! The 3 of us always start off sharing a Ceasar Salad. This time, it was a plate of yellowed lettuce, a pile of shaved parm, and no anchovies until we requested them. Then 2 of our steaks were way undercooked. We ordered medium and got rare. My husband ate his regardless, but I sent my filet back for more heat. The first time it came back in 2 minutes, barely changed, the 2nd time they killed it, way overcooked. The manager could not have been nicer and more apologetic about it, and he did comp the filet. However, that means that all the tables attention went to the others politely waiting, while I tried to insist they continue eating. It ruins the experience. The side of sautéed spinach with garlic was also undercooked, the garlic white as a ghost. Then our typical favorite coconut pie tasted like it was made yesterday. Flavorless and sopping wet crust. Again…we frequent this restaurant and order the same thing, same temp every time, so something was off. We will give it another try. Hopefully, they just had some trouble in the kitchen this time round. The service was excellent however.

Capital Grille is a consistently great spot for lunch. The service was superb. And they are great for birthdays -- we had 2 at the table -- with a card, glitter on the table cloth, and a delicious dessert big enough to share. A wonderful treat.

I could not eat my steak it was very tough. The server was not attentive. I left the restaurant without a dinner.

Excellent meal cooked just as requested. Our waiter was very attentive without being obtrusive. The birthday lunch was served with a surprise dessert which was absolutely delicious. We'll definitely return!

We went for the Wagu and Wine pairing. We all had different burgers and all were delicious! The wine was great as well! We left there full and felt it was worth the price!

The food was amazing, we had a filet mignon. The server was very profitable and polite. Unfortunately it was way too loud and cramped.
