Whether you are looking for a place to celebrate your birthday, to have an elegant lunch, or romantic dinner our beautifully decorated cake shop is the perfect place. Please note, for Afternoon Tea reservations, please contact our Events team directly.

Delicious three-layer cakes, as well as cheesecakes, pies, cookies, and other desserts fill our elegantly designed display case and are served daily. For the savory side, we offer an expanded lunch and dinner menu featuring some traditional dishes as well as our signature quiche and chicken salad. Our menu changes seasonally, to ensure every experience is a new one. Everything on our menu is house made from scratch daily with our commitment to the highest quality and ingredients. Gwendolyn's Cake Bake Shop has become the destination of Indianapolis for celebrating birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and all life's special occasions.

    Very disappointing compared to the Carmel location. Crowded and noisy; just too small. Both of our hot sandwiches were served cold—never heated, the cheese not melted and the bread not toasted (making the Croque Madam, in particular, a soggy mess). The burrata was supposed to have pesto, walnuts, and smoked sea salt—but did not. The onion soup was good , the dessert was great; but this was far too expensive a meal to be so disappointing. I would have sent two of the meals back if the waitress had come back to check on us. But it seemed impossible in that crowded, tiny room to get a server’s attention. I have been to the Carmel location many times with nothing but great experiences. Honestly, though I doubt I’ll be back to either. I might order cake to go, but never dinner again; for certain. For some reason, when I booked through open table the reservation came up for two instead of three. I immediately messaged the correction in the app. When we arrived for our 6:00 reservation they told us that only two of us could be seated. They couldn’t accomodate three. I went back to the open table app and booked a table for three at 6:15 and they seated us. …but they were going to to let us walk rather than solving that problem for us. Why did I have to make that very simple correction myself?

    Feels like a French fairyland, I took two tween girls and it was an enchanting experience. Between glittering drinks, sparkle dusted entrees and delicious cake with a very sweet waitress it was the perfect special lunch outing destination.

    The Cake Bake Shop was highly recommended to us from multiple people. We went to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday and what an amazing experience it was. Everyone who we invited would also highly recommend this shop. What a fun time and the food, drink and everything else about the experience was wonderful.

    The cake and latte I had was great. I would not get food food from there. I paid $20 for a salad and over half the lettuce was extremely wilted and my avocado was brown. A $20 salad should be perfect. Mine was inedible. If I go back, I would not get any actual food.

    We had an amazing experience with our 9yr old daughter for her birthday! Gigi was very helpful in setting the stage for a wonderful luncheon and we appreciated her input when asking about the menu items and helping us not over order when it came to the dessert course because our daughter wanted a bit of everything 😂
