The service was great, our waitress was pleasant , attentive and helpful. We have been here and at the watermanns for Sunday roast several times and unfortunately the food has declined on this occasion. The portion size got better but the beef was not as nicely cut, juicy or tasty, Yorkshire pudding whilst massive didn’t taste as good, the horseradish sauce tasted a little off and the potatoes were too hard to cut. Not sure if the chef changed or was having a bad day but I hope it returns to its glorious days again . Thank you anyway for a good time .

An excellent meal with great and friendly service. Really like the transition from bar pub to pub restaurant. Good menu and always an enjoyable dining experience. Always have a positive experience at the Britannia!

Totally lovely dinner in the lovely heated garden. Delicious food, great service - all in all a really perfect evening. The Britannia richly deserves its excellent reputation. Thank you!

Good meal and evening. Service was very good. I tried the new scallops starter which was nice but still isn’t as nice as the old one with the cauliflower purée and the hazelnuts! That was always my favourite.

I usually adore The Britannia but yesterday wasn’t the best experience. First off I requested an outside table due to the noise levels as my fiance is almost deaf in one ear and suffers from tinnitus. When we arrived, our friends had already been seated and put inside. Unfortunately we were also put downstairs where the noise from the bar, it was busy and the table behind us let their baby scream a lot instead of taking him out to calm him (I’m a nanny so I know what I’m talking about) and my fiance was struggling as his tinnitus flared up and he struggled to hear the conversation between me and our friends. Service was very slow which again I’ve never found before in the past and I had to ask if we could order drinks as no one had come over to us and we’d been there awhile. The new menu is ok but sad to see the old scallops with cauliflower puree starter no longer available. I had a roast and my Yorkshire pudding was totally overdone which was a shame. I’ve always been a massive advocate of The Britannia but was left yesterday feeling slightly disappointed.
