Gather at the Blue Pig Tavern, our distinctive restaurant tucked in the corner of Congress Hall. Known for hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites, its name derives from a gambling parlor sited in Congress Hall in the mid-1800s. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Today, we offer timeless classics and new seasonal delights with ingredients that are always farm-fresh.

The evening started badly, with the valet refusing our car because we weren’t staying at the Inn. Their sign even said one hour parking for Blue Pig diners, but no parking from the valet. I dropped my wife off so that we didn’t lose our reservation, then drove around until I found parking about a quarter mile away. This being my first time at the Blue Pig, the experience really needed to turn around quickly, which it did. The hostess was friendly, and seated us in a nice area across from the fireplace. Our server was very attentive and shared the specials with our drink order. The food came out quickly, and was very good. Overall, a good experience. Minuses of note, in case they are important to you: - Can’t count on their valet parking - So loud you could barely have a conversation (not good for intimate conversations or special occasions) - So dark you could not read a menu without the light on your phone - A bit pricey for what it was, even for Cape May

Had really great time ambiance in front of fireplace waiter was great and was handling a lot of tables all of meals were delicious !

I have dined at The Blue Pig so many times in the past and every time has been absolutely wonderful, until today. Today’s brunch experience was really disappointing. First, we ordered drinks and when the drinks were dropped off our server never came to check on us. I would have liked a spoon for my coffee but was never offered one. I realized I was missing a napkin, asked our server and she never brought me a napkin. I had to go to the host stand to request one. My dining companion and I had ordered the pumpkin cinnamon rolls and we were never served them. When I was given my main dish the entire dish was cold. The eggs and potatoes were completely cold. When the check was delivered I asked about the cinnamon rolls and only then were we told they were out for the morning. I could not believe the lack of customer service. There was no apology and honestly it was like she had completely forgotten we had even ordered them. I am sure I will return to The Blue Pig, but after this experience I certainly hope it’s a better one or it may be my last time dining there. I have come to expect so much more from your establishment.

We sat outside on this beautiful fall night and had the entire outside to ourselves! It was so romantic and the food and service were excellent! Our waitress Alexa was very accommodating to our requests and made the experience even more delightful! We will definitely come back again.

Wonderful place to meet friends for brunch in beautiful Cape May. Just love Congress Hall. The food and ambiance were just perfect!!

Overall it was a pleasant experience but the food was just ok. My wife ordered the clam chowder and the short ribs- the soup was not really hot, more like lukewarm and the short rib was dried out. Not bad but just not great. I got the deviled eggs and crab bucatini. The eggs were just a little overpowered with mustard seeds but still tasty. The pasta was the standout and pretty delicious. They do have good table bread too.

Cost me over $50 for breakfast for two. The potatoes and omelette were not worth the price. On the other hand the environment with wood fireplaces was very inviting.
