Gather at the Blue Pig Tavern, our distinctive restaurant tucked in the corner of Congress Hall. Known for hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites, its name derives from a gambling parlor sited in Congress Hall in the mid-1800s. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Today, we offer timeless classics and new seasonal delights with ingredients that are always farm-fresh.

Went for breakfast with my family. Had the skillet breakfast. Was so dry and over cooked. I had to scrape the pan to eat potatoes. Wife’s food was fine. Disappointed for price

Service was quick and efficient but not rushed. The portions were large and delicious. Plating was appealing. The starter was a meat & cheese board. This included seasoned nuts, three varieties of cheeses , three different cured meats, crackers, biscuits, honey & apricot jam. The mains came out quickly, so we had leftover cheeses that we took back to the hotel (with frig) and enjoyed the next day. Mains were seared flounder over fingerling potatoes with a tomato crab bisque and the scallops. We enjoyed both. Noise level was high as the room was full, including children.

Food and service were great. We sat in the dining room with the fire place and it was very very loud. They could use some rugs or drapery to help with the acoustics. I could hardly hear the person across the table from me and waiter nearly misheard orders due to the noise.

We were seated promptly ( we had made reservations) and did not have to wait long for our waiter to take our orders. Our appetizers came out quickly but we had more than enough time to enjoy them before our entrees arrived. Our food was piping hot when it arrived and we were both full when we finished!. Our waiter checked in frequently to see if we needed anything and to refill our beverages. We definitely plan to return when we visit Cape May again!

My daughter used to love eating here so I booked it for brunch one day. Our orders were simple breakfast foods, but over an hour later we still did not get our food. My husband was about to leave, when our food showed up. Two orders for our girls were ok but the other 2 orders were wrong. When they brought the correct orders it was disgusting with no salt or seasoning. We tried to eat it, but ended up just paying and going elsewhere to eat. Personally, I would not waste my time or money by going there.

Food was good but service was not that great. An item that was ordered never came out and was charged on the bill. Also, another drink was ordered and the incorrect drink came out. We asked for the correct drink and the waiter never brought it. And the wrong drink was charged on the bill. No one ever came to ask if we wanted refills on our drinks or if the food was OK.

We sat outside for breakfast and it was such a nice atmosphere. Lots of people had their pets (if that’s not your thing then be advised but we didn’t mind). Our server, Honey, was very sweet and attentive. The food was served quickly and very tasty. Loved the fresh orange juice. And for the little kids the blue pig was walking through the restaurant for photo ops. The place was charming and worth the visit. I would highly recommend.

Fabulous dinner and service. Surf and turf was spectacular!! The salads and oysters terrific. Egg plant app and panza salad to die for. Alexa our server was a doll

Food was good but service was terrible. Waited forever for our food, no one ever came back to refill our drinks. The restaurant has gotten too crowded over the years and service has completely fallen off.

Our favorite restaurant in Cape May, hands down. The bread, oysters, and margarita are excellent, as are so many of the changing entrees.
