We stayed at the hotel for two nights, and had eaten in the restaurant on each evening. Really enjoyed the food, I had the Indian tikka burger, and charna masala bowl. They were so good we had the same on the second night.

What an incredibly beautiful restaurant pub this is. Huge garden, exquisite interior and magnificent food! When booking this restaurant, I was hooked when I read the desert menu, I'll let you find out for yourself. I'm a big lover of fish and the two options of mackerel and salmon for starters and mains are what I'd describe as amazing! Go get some!! Every member of staff, working on the night I went here, were all very helpful, polite and hard working. My wife and myself will be back here in no time at all. 10 out of 10

We had a great dinner at the Black Horse, the pie was exceptional, the service was efficient and friendly and a nice relaxing ambiance. We will be back!

Perfect village Inn . Met our family at this location who had stayed the weekend. Super accomodation. The food was all spot on and went down with plenty of good choice wine. Staff were all very pleasant. Noticed camper van can also stay so an extra bonus. Visits to Raby Castle are a must.

We will definitely return to the Black Horse, an exemplary venue! The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding, we really felt very well catered for. I would strongly recommend the Black Horse for a special event, from setting to service I would say it is unbeatable! I would like to thank the staff for their attentiveness, we were made to feel very comfortable and welcome. You really have to give it a go!

We are local, and this is our absolute go to favourite place. Food is always good, the staff always go above and beyond to make us have the best meal. 100% recommended !

Unfortunately we were amazed at the cost of a small portion of mediocre meal. It was far over priced for what was served albeit food was ok.

The Sunday roast menu being available in the evening was a real treat. The rump beef and pan roasted chicken were both perfectly cooked . The vegetables were imaginatively prepared without being too “ silly-exotic” .. and the potatoes were just delicious ! Plates were hot too. Lovely table service from charming staff… well chilled wine…really was a faultless dining experience with both chef and front of house staff deserving high praise.
