We serve up scran (that’s food) and swally (that’s drink) that tastes guid (that’s great.)

We won’t waste your time with a wall of text, but we’re proud to work with some awesome local suppliers who know their stuff.

We've got a great central location on Edinburgh's Grassmarket. If you're looking to catch the game then look no further - we're a sports bar at heart thanks to our 8 high definition screens.

Pub quiz is every Thursday; grab a bunch of your (preferably smartest) pals and show the world that you're our top quiz team of the week.

The staff couldn't have been any more helpful if they tried, nothing was a bother to them at all. Food waa great also. We went when it was actually a quiet night midweek before the football came on the tele but it was still worth a visit.

We loved this pub! The fish and chips were great. We weren't crazy about ordering at the bar but the wait staff was friendly and courteous. They did forget to bring part of our order but corrected it fairly quickly. Promptly at 7:00 pm the volume of the music went up dramatically, being a bit loud for us but over all we loved the place.

Very friendly staff. Good selection of drinks. Food was tasty, good value pub grub. It wasn’t too busy as we were there on a Sunday teatime. Would definitely use The Black Bull again when in Edinburgh.

We had a great time. We came to watch a football game and were not disappointed. The pub looks great, good choice of drinks, especially spirits! The food was also very good (we tried items from the special Euro menu) and the atmosphere was very pleasant.
