The Assembly House has a small pay and display car park adjacent to the building. This is accessed via the Grapes Hill roundabout on the inner ring road. The nearest bus stops are Theatre Street (150m), Red Lion Street (0.2 miles), St Stephens Street (0.2 miles) and Castle Meadow (0.3 miles). The nearest train station is Norwich Station which is 0.7 miles from The Forum. By car: From the Grapes Hill roundabout, take the exit signposted with a brown heritage sign to The Assembly House, which takes you to Chapel Field North, with Chapelfield Gardens on your right. Take the first turn on your right to Chapel Field East and take the first exit off the mini roundabout to Chantry Road. Approximately 200m along the road, you will find the entrance to The Assembly House’s pay and display car park. If you are arriving by taxi or being dropped off by car, please be aware that if you have mobility issues, you can ask to be dropped off directly at our front door. A selection of light lunches and gorgeous grazing boards plus our savoury takes on Afternoon Tea and some Assembly House classics! Served from noon until last orders at 3.30pm seven days a week! Try our seafood version of afternoon tea, Afternoon Sea, or Afternoon Cheese, which is a cheese-lover's delight! Your restaurant booking is for one of our beautiful Georgian dining rooms, including the main restaurant and The Ivory Room. During the summer months, outdoor tables are available but cannot be pre-booked due to the charming eccentricity of the British weather. If you have a restaurant booking and there is space, you can request that your booking is moved outdoors.

Available seven days a week from 8am to 11am, our breakfast menu includes favourites such as a Full English Fry-up packed full of local ingredients to Posh Cheese on Toast, our popular Beforenoon Tea (a breakfast edition of our afternoon tea served on three tiers) to our Double-Baked Cheddar and Parmesan Soufflés, Kedgeree to Eggs Benedict, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs on sourdough to Buttermilk Pancakes with berries and creme fraiche or Chocolate...There's something for everyone on the menu! We also have vegan and vegetarian fry-ups available and homemade breakfast beans on toast. Start your day the right way: under chandeliers!
Afternoon Tea

It's the multi-award winning service we're famous for: four gorgeous tiers served under glittering chandeliers between 12pm & 3.30pm! Afternoon Tea at The Assembly House is £32.00 for one (£18.95 for under-12s) plus a 10% discretionary service charge. ALL afternoon teas served are themed, other than for pre-booked private events. Your booking will be for one of several of our dining rooms, including the main restaurant. We look forward to you being our guests! The staff were very attentive and very friendly catering to all our needs. The afternoon tea was delicious and we were provided with a box and bag to take the food we didn’t eat home.

A wonderful treat, for a 90th birthday celebration. Nothing was too much trouble. Beautifully presented food. We had someone who didn’t like sandwiches and this was not an issue they put alternatives out. Also a lovely gesture was a slice of cake with a candle for the birthday lady! Highly recommend, we had the afternoon tea, so much food even the hungriest tummy was satisfied🥰 thank you again to the wonderful staff.

Utterly delicious Nutcracker themed afternoon tea. Everything about the food was lovely, the service was great. We were gifted the afternoon tea and it is such an amazing present to receive.

Afternoon tea at the Assembly House is an amazing and unique experience! My parents have never had an afternoon tea before and they absolutely loved it! The food and drinks were excellent and we felt very looked after by all staff.
