By car: From the Grapes Hill roundabout, take the exit signposted with a brown heritage sign to The Assembly House, which takes you to Chapel Field North, with Chapelfield Gardens on your right. Take the first turn on your right to Chapel Field East and take the first exit off the mini roundabout to Chantry Road. Approximately 200m along the road, you will find the entrance to The Assembly House’s pay and display car park. A selection of light lunches and gorgeous grazing boards plus our savoury takes on Afternoon Tea and some Assembly House classics! Served from noon until last orders at 3.30pm seven days a week! Try our seafood version of afternoon tea, Afternoon Sea, or Afternoon Cheese, which is a cheese-lover's delight! Your restaurant booking is for one of our beautiful Georgian dining rooms, including the main restaurant and The Ivory Room. During the summer months, outdoor tables are available but cannot be pre-booked due to the charming eccentricity of the British weather. If you have a restaurant booking and there is space, you can request that your booking is moved outdoors.

Available seven days a week from 8am to 11am, our breakfast menu includes favourites such as a Full English Fry-up packed full of local ingredients to Posh Cheese on Toast, our popular Beforenoon Tea (a breakfast edition of our afternoon tea served on three tiers) to our Double-Baked Cheddar and Parmesan Soufflés, Kedgeree to Eggs Benedict, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs on sourdough to Buttermilk Pancakes with berries and creme fraiche or Chocolate...There's something for everyone on the menu! We also have vegan and vegetarian fry-ups available and homemade breakfast beans on toast. Start your day the right way: under chandeliers!

It's the multi-award winning service we're famous for: four gorgeous tiers served under glittering chandeliers between 12pm & 3.30pm! Afternoon Tea at The Assembly House is £32.00 for one (£18.95 for under-12s) plus a 10% discretionary service charge. ALL afternoon teas served are themed, other than for pre-booked private events. Your booking will be for one of several of our dining rooms, including the main restaurant. We look forward to you being our guests! We had the cosy autumn afternoon tea. This is our first afternoon tea here. I must admit on first impressions I was disappointed. Especially because it comes with a hefty price tag but in saying that the food was amazing and delicious. We couldn't fault the service and we left full and had to take some home!

We had afternoon tea at the Assembly House, it was absolutely lovely. The food was so yummy we had to bring some home as we couldn't eat it all. Lovely afternoon can't recommend it enough.

Perfect high tea for 2. A lovely birthday treat and lovely gesture. Ordered one high tea as gluten free. It was presented just like the other one and was clearly marked with a flag . Staff were fantastic and very helpful.

Lovely environment. However tea was delivered in a badly cracked tea pot - thus was resolved quickly. 1 vegetarian diet was booked and confirmed but was not served. Again dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Excellent food & service, lovely building, very peaceful, was able to eat at our own pace, nobody rushing us, very polite staff, this is my 3rd time at the Assembly Rooms, each time has been exceptional.

We had the Cheese Souffle with fries or salad and both delicious. The Affogato was lovely but the Knickerbocker Glory had too much Berrie Compote in it for me and not enough ice cream

Booked The Assembly House for my friends special Birthday. From the time we arrived until the time we left we were looked after attentively by all staff, nothing was too much trouble. Afternoon tea was as good as any top class hotel in London, if not better. My friends needs we’re well catered for, she is vegetarian and dairy free, and she had a very good alternative choice of delicious sandwiches / pastries and cakes. We were able to take away an extra food in a ‘goody bag’ and even offered more . Can not fault the whole experience, would definitely recommend for any occasion. Thank you all the staff at Assembly House in Norwich .

Welcomed as soon as we walked through the door. Lovely table, plenty of space and really nice atmosphere/surroundings. Service excellent and food delicious. Will be going back
