By car: From the Grapes Hill roundabout, take the exit signposted with a brown heritage sign to The Assembly House, which takes you to Chapel Field North, with Chapelfield Gardens on your right. Take the first turn on your right to Chapel Field East and take the first exit off the mini roundabout to Chantry Road. Approximately 200m along the road, you will find the entrance to The Assembly House’s pay and display car park. It's the multi-award winning service we're famous for: four gorgeous tiers served under glittering chandeliers between 12pm & 3.30pm! Afternoon Tea at The Assembly House is £32.00 for one (£18.95 for under-12s) plus a 10% discretionary service charge. ALL afternoon teas served are themed, other than for pre-booked private events. Your booking will be for one of several of our dining rooms, including the main restaurant. We look forward to you being our guests! Please tell us in the booking notes or email admin@assemblyhousenorwich.co.uk at least 24 hours ahead: * If you have dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, DF, GF) * If you require a high chair/are a wheelchair user * If you would like to enjoy Afternoon CHEESE or Afternoon SEA
Beforenoon Tea

The Assembly House is the home of Beforenoon Tea, the breakfast edit of our award-winning afternoon tea served EVERY DAY in our restaurant between 8am to 11am. Beforenoon Tea makes any day a celebration! The menu includes a slightly smaller version of one of our hot freshly-cooked breakfasts and then the Beforenoon Tea Stand which is filled with treats including a ‘fried egg' mango and vanilla cheesecake and cereal-based cakes and tarts. Savouries include mini cream cheese and smoked salmon croissants, Cheddar Cheese, Colman's Mustard and chive scones with bacon jam, three-cheese toasties and Assembly House sausage rolls. Then choose tea or coffee chocolate mousse. All served with loose leaf English Breakfast tea or coffee!

Available seven days a week from 8am to 11am, our breakfast menu includes favourites such as a Full English Fry-up packed full of local ingredients to Posh Cheese on Toast, our popular Beforenoon Tea (a breakfast edition of our afternoon tea served on three tiers) to our Double-Baked Cheddar and Parmesan Soufflés, Kedgeree to Eggs Benedict, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs on sourdough to Buttermilk Pancakes with berries and creme fraiche or Chocolate...There's something for everyone on the menu! We also have vegan and vegetarian fry-ups available and homemade breakfast beans on toast. Start your day the right way: under chandeliers!

Everything about the food, the place and staff was incredible. Had a lovely afternoon tea with family members for three birthdays at once and all of the staff accommodated every need or wish for the day! Very good value for money, will definitely be going again

We went for afternoon tea for a friends birthday treat. The food was wonderful, the staff were friendly and the building is beautiful

We’ve been to the Assembly House many times both to stay and for afternoon tea. The standard is so high and each time is as superb if not better than before ( if that’s possible). This Beauty and the Beast theme was perfect for us loving all things fairytale and magical. New additions to the tea made for novel surprises. Service outstanding, many thanks indeed, and the venue is just superb.

Food was a bit of a let down, have had numerous afternoon teas here and loved them all but the Beauty and the Beast was not great. Everything, even the savoury items was far too sweet. Also, price increase does not warrant what you get. Disappointed.

Beautiful property in central Norwich. Themed afternoon which was well thought out, tasty and with a ‘savoury’ section which was delicious! And didn’t make it too sweet. Great service, nice vibe and we will return!
