Situé sur la rive sud de la Tamise, à seulement quelques pas de sites d'intérêt tels que le London Eye, l'IMAX et le Royal Festival Hall, le restaurant et bar à vin The Archduke est un lieu incontournable occupant les arches de l'ancienne voie ferrée à proximité de la gare de Waterloo. Premier restaurant à avoir ouvert dans ce quartier de Londres, The Archduke a connu plusieurs transformations depuis 1979 mais n'a rien perdu de son élégance, avec son mobilier simple, ses vieux murs de briques et sa verrière contemporaine. Vous pourrez y déguster une délicieuse cuisine européenne moderne, notamment d'excellents steaks (le restaurant appartient à la chaîne de steakhouses Black and Blue) et du poulet rôti servis avec les accompagnements de votre choix. Le bar accueille 6 soirs par semaine des concerts de jazz, et vous pourrez profiter d'une vue spectaculaire sur le London Eye depuis la terrasse.

Excellent lunch with friends. Food was really good and the lamb and steak were cooked perfectly. My food allergies were dealt with professionally and staff were knowledgeable as well as friendly. Have visited in the evening too and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Service is always quick and friendly, and as I told them, they do the best roast chicken and beef bourgignon of anywhere I've been! So it's only ever a choice between those for me. Their half-price bottle of wine offer, now ended, was also much appreciated..

Booked a table for 6 at the last minute. Service was friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. The jazz created a fantastic atmosphere and was loud enough to hear but not so loud we couldn’t hold a conversation. The only niggle (and it is a niggle) was that our lovely cocktails arrived at the same time as our food. But we had a fabulous evening and would definitely recommend.

My steak was not or the best quality, flavour or cooked. I ordered a Sirlion medium-well with fries. It was more like well done, very dry and lacked flavour, season or even the basic ingredient of rock salt. Unfortunately I was disappointed and did not finish it. But the customer service and response to my disappointment was understanding and very impressive. I wouldn't have the steak again but would visit to have other options on the menu. Customer service and the tentative diligence of the staff was very good.

A quick two course lunch ahead of catching a train from Waterloo. Attentive, pleasant and efficient staff and service. Food was excellent value for money and wine reasonably priced. A very good all round and cost efficient option for central London standards.
