(We unfortunately cannot reserve our terrace tables, any bookings will have a table reserved inside although guests are more than welcome to sit at a table on our riverside terrace if one is available upon arrival)

Set on the bank of the beautiful river Cam in the historic city of Cambridge, The Anchor pub, dining room & river terrace is a stone’s throw away from the world famous Queens college & its stunning Mathematical Bridge.

It was a nice place, and we could sit by the windows, where the view was amazing. The staff provided good service and were very helpful. Apart from waiting a long time for the food, everything was perfect.

I booked this to watch the football on the weekend and the staff was lovely, food was good and drinks were great! Amazing location right in the river and super dog friendly, would highly recommend.

From a lovely welcome to advice on punting on leaving we had a wonderful experience. We had an upstairs window table and the view was Devine. The service was second to none . Second time. We’ll be back.

My husband had the battered haddock and chips and it did not fill him up. I had the double cheeseburger which was tiny. The beef patties were very thin and tasteless. A very dissapointing meal. The toilets were not looked after and there is a notice of apology for this in the toilets, but it is not acceptable. The serving staff tried hard to be friendly and professional. Cannot recommend.

Food wasn’t good. Burger didn’t seem fresh and had a weird texture. My wife got the sea bass and it was dry and unpleasant. Staff were ok, but we had some chav next to us on a loud video call for 20mins, would have expected them to tell him to take it outside.

Pretty nice food and friendly staff. Considering wheee it is (right on the river) and how busy Cambridge is - I think they do a good job.

Downstairs bar very busy but got served easily enough, dining area not that crowded, overall food was excellent and would definitely recommend.
