Ten is a modern Japanese tapas style restaurant, centrally located on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall.

Since 2006, Ten has served a variety of both traditional and original cuisine.

Chef Pei Jen Chang sources ingredients from the finest local, regional, and international sea and farm purveyors, and strives to offer fare that will appeal to the gamut of culinary palates.

Our bar menu boasts an extensive wine list, an assortment of imported and local craft beers, as well as one of the largest collections of sake in Virginia. In addition, we offer a unique selection of libations, such as hand-crafted Asian inspired cocktails, assembled using inventive, authentic ingredients, or a 'Sake Flight', which allows for the subtle, intricate flavors of three selected varietals to be experienced.

The meaning of the Japanese word 'Ten' is 'heaven' or 'celebration', and our highest goal is to create an elevated, adventurous, and intimate dining experie

My wife and I had a dinner on a Saturday night - we showed up an hour early because our night was a little more fluid than expected. We were able to get a seat at the bar (which we love), and it wasn't an issue, even though they were quite busy. We started with Edamame, each had a cocktail and a glass of wine - the ginger gimlet was delicious. I had two rolls and my wife had 1, and each was amazing. The Spicy toro and dragon roll have never disappointed - and the spicy toro has become one of my favorites. It was the night of Tony Bennett being honored at the UVA men's Basketball game, and 30 minutes after we arrived, a handful of former players, including two current NBA players came in to enjoy Ten, a sign that the restaurant is remembered well by those who have been in Cville, and quality enough for men that can afford the best a town has to offer!

The food was outstanding. Everything was so full of flavors. Avocado tempura, sea bass, out of this world with flavor. Even the case was a surprising taste experience. For a special occasion, there is no place better that I've experienced. Stephen is a wonderful server, and very helpful with suggestions when we got stuck

The food was amazing, the service impeccable, and the ambiance was spectacular. We had the harami garlic skewers, ten hamachi, rainbow roll, dragon roll and sake roll, all while sitting in the window with awesome drinks and a great view of the street. The dinner could not have been better. This was my first time there and Ten immediately became one of my favorite restaurants for date night.

Drinks were great, sashimi was delicious, rock shrimp was good as always however, the wasabi roll I ordered had very little fish and was falling apart, not a single bite stayed together when picked up with chopsticks so it was quite messy. The hamachi collar was the most disappointing. It was extremely overcooked, dry, and the texture seemed it was either not fresh or not thawed properly. We decided to try Ten again after awhile away and I'm sorry to say I don't believe we will be visiting again anytime soon.

Perfect evening! Ten is sparkling - literally with white lights and the perfect decor. Comfortable and classy. Sasha is a wonderful server - knows exactly when to help and when to give space to the table. Drinks are fantastic and the food is truly delicious. Wonderful spot for a celebration.

Amazing food! Such good quality fish it’s buttery and amazing flavor. Chefs choice platter of sushi is Devine. Some of the best sushi I’ve had in the states-comparing to when I went to Japan.

Fantastic sushi. This is the only sushi restaurant around Charlottesville that is close to being NY like.
