This restaurant is always good. The location is fantastic, the staff is courteous and the food is great. Even though it’s a distance from our house, it’s worth the trip.

My husband had been to Taverna Opa years ago while on a business trip, and he thought it would be a fun place to go while we were on vacation in Hollywood Beach with our daughter. We had a table outside, directly on the Intracoastal Waterway, which we loved. The food and the service were both fantastic, although I don't think we did a particularly good job with the DIY hummus! The Greek salad was amazing, and the portion was so big that we didn't even finish half. All three of us enjoyed our entrees, and we appreciated the input from our server (who had definite opinions and wasn't afraid to share them!). We had a great time and will definitely return.

Loved the food and the ambiance of sitting outside. However, when asked twice to be offered a table next to the water in a private setting, I was told twice that those table were for 4 not for two (granted there were 6 or 7 tables available at 8:15 pm on a Saturday). I was told twice NO (not for party of 2 and there was time for others to come since it was a Saturday). We were seated at a table for 3 next to another table for 3, so we were looking at one another and eating in an extremely close proximity. It felt like I was spending an evening with my close family and not with my date. Needless to say, the tables that we asked for and not given remained empty. Out of 6 or 7 of those tables, 2 were taken throughout the evening. The “best” part of it was that one of the two tables had only 2 people not 4.
