TAVERNA is nestled in Saskatoon's historic downtown core within walking distance of a number of major hotels in the renowned entertainment district. The building was originally a department store dating back to 1909. Taverna still maintains a historical charm and character, serving fantastic rustic Italian dishes since 1969.

This is a limited intervention style of cooking, inspired by family tradition. We don't try and upstage our ingredients with elaborate techniques or clutter them up with fancy sauces. It's just simple respect for intensely flavoured San Marzano tomatoes, fresh garlic, warm basil, thick golden oil of first pressed olives and the conscious effort to bring locally grown, organic, and sustainable ingredients to your table when ever possible.

Although Taverna has been operating in Saskatoon for several years, this was our first visit since it was renovated. We were quite impressed with the open, airy atmosphere created by the renovations, and our cordial, attentive waitress. The warm olive appetizer and focacia were excellent and our pasta entries were both delicious and plentiful.

Have been to Taverna’s numerous times, this was an anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed great meal and service was very good

Requested a table by the window. Did not get one even though there were spots. Put a note that it was for a birthday. Nothing was even mentioned. Food was fine.

The only slight complaint I have for the entire experience is our table was quite dark and we had to use our phone flashlights to read the menu.

Food was very good, I always ordered the ravioli and Taverna always hit it! except the part where one of my friends is vegetarian and there was not many options for her and the day we came in we were really craving for pizza but the server said they have problems with their oven and that very disappointing but understandable. Our Server was ok he wasn’t very helpful til the end. He barely check our table or asked us how was the food. We had to find other server to get our check.
