We had a terrible experience with the hostess who sat us at the worst possible table in the restaurant in a far corner behind a bush with no view of anything. When we asked to be moved, as we were celebrating a birthday and wanted to experience the true restaurant ambiance in such a historic venue, the hostess could not have been any less engaged, considerate, or accommodating. Talking to a chair would have probably yielded a better attitude. With no alternative, despite plenty of available tables throughout the duration of our meal, we sat and the mood was ruined and it was a lackluster evening for all in our party and devoid of much celebrating. For the money we spent, we wish we went elsewhere. Our waitress, however, was a superstar.

Sitting outside at the Tavern on the green was wonderful. No complaints to about food or service.

The ambiance here is unbeatable. So convenient to take a Citibike from the UES through the park and return it just a block away from Tavern. We were excited to see the same talented family of four performing Mexican folk music outside as we saw last year when we visited. Be sure to ask for a bar menu for additional food selections that do not appear on the regular menu. The food is fine, but not five star, but you don’t mind because the ambiance is so fantastic.

The tavern was very loud. Everyone was nice and we enjoyed the food. The waitress didn't give correct change and even though I tip 30% atleast when dining,I like to have correct change. Not what I expected from The Tavern on the Green but a nice Cafe experience in Central Park.

Early Sunday morning reservation at 9:15 am. Wonderful weather to sit on the patio. Greeted immediately by a waitress to make sure we’ve been taken care of and took our drink order and appetizer. Our actual Waitress came by and let us know what the specials were and double checked to make sure that we had gotten our primary order correct. When the appetizer and drinks hit the table, she came by to get our orders. We tried to get an additional side of potatoes, but somehow the sides we got for both of our dishes and an additional side or the potatoes. LOL as good as I enjoyed the potatoes that was just too much. Then the small additional side of potatoes for $15 seemed a bit excessive when my whole main plate was $22 and came with a side of potato’s. It’s happens… and overall we had a wonderful time.

The host was very unprofessional. As he was about to take us to be seated, he stopped to play with a customers, baby as we stood there, confused, wondering what was happening. Our server Hector was great that was perhaps the best part of our night. We dined outside, but then things took a turn… we saw rats running around on the ground very close to us- that took the cake for us. This place was on my bucket list of places to dine, but I would never return there because I do not dine with rodents.

Beautiful outdoor seating and efficient service. The food was very good as well. Our waiter was helpful re modifying a menu item. Overall very pleasant evening - really enjoyed sitting outdoors in the garden.

TOTG is always a great spot to dine. The outdoor seating was nice (although the banging club music was a bit much) the problem my party encountered was that the seats are very deep well worn plastic “wicker” which was too uncomfortable to sit in. We asked to move inside and the staff accommodated that nicely. Our waitress was pleasant, helpful and attentive. Nice to see a robustly diverse staff.
