Locally sourced and seasonally inspired, Tavern on Kruse changes menus every 12 weeks as we weave the season's perfectly-fresh and perfectly ripe bounty into our offerings. Our executive chef, Nathan Bates, spent four and half years at the Michelin 3-Star "Fifth Floor" in San Francisco. Our space is elegant, but our staff is friendly and jovial as we see "people" as the reason for dining. We look forward to meeting you.

We now have a private dining facility called Tavern Annex with screens, projectors it's own bar and seating for up to 40. http://www.tavernonkruse.com/tavern-annex The indoor capacity of Tavern is 118; 144 if we remove seating to create a dance floor. We have another 90 seats outdoors split between two patios which can be rented separately or in conjunction with indoor space, bringing our total event capacity to 200. Lackluster service, packed bar, the food was mostly ok but not appropriate for the price. Quality control was clearly lacking. Some of the pasta was too thin and overcooked, some too think and chewy. One of the lights was flickering badly. Looking up you could see the cobwebs. Overall, three stars is being very generous

The server forgot to put in my entree order, or the kitchen forgot to make it. Everyone else’s food came out, and I was sitting and waiting assuming mine would arrive shortly, but no. The food had been delivered by people other than our server, so when we called her over to check on my food, she went away and came back and said they were making it. I told her to forget it as by that time the other people in my party were almost done, and would have had to sit there and watch me eat. Very disappointing.

Hostess was very nice. Waitress was very nice. Service was slow. Crab and artichoke dip was barely warm and very little crab. Would never order that again. Shortrib pasta was very good. Steak and fries was average. Oswego steak with potatoes and Brussel sprouts was excellent. Blue cheese sauce amazing. Pumpkin cheese cake just ok. Would not order that again. Ice cream was good. Excellent wine selection at expected prices.

Cons: There was essentially nothing for vegetarians. The side salad without cheese was a giant mass of greens that make you feel like you’re a dinosaur in Jurassic Park. It was frigid because we were seated near the door. The music was blaring. Pros: Our server was lovely and professional. The non-alcoholic drinks were delicious.

The service was great Nicole was amazing The noise level made it difficult to hear and hold a conversation and we were in the restaurant portion not the bar Nicole provided amazing service. I was with my 92 year old mother and Nicole treated her so special

The ahi burger was good and tasty wasabi aioli. Sweet potato fries that came with it were a bit greasy but tastes good. The short rib tagliatelle had great pasta - overall, a little on the bland side but the meat was tender and the few small tomatoes were nice. Ordered the fried Brussels sprouts - they were coated in so much cheese they were barely edible. Took them home to clean them up and salvage the sprouts - which were good without so much goo on them. Service was good. Canned music was a bit loud. Overall, I’d say decent but not excellent.
