A random google search for a restaurant near the Beacon theater I found Sugar Bar. Amazing food, wonderful and attentive staff, and the cocktails were good, too! This is now my uptown restaurant whenever I travel to NYC.

Intimate restaurant and bar. We enjoyed a generous portion of perfectly seasoned fried catfish strips that were hot, crispy and tender. It is a large enough portion to share. Drinks were good, too. The entertainment this night was an acoustic duo “That Guy and Him.” Good music and fun banter with the audience. Would definitely go back.

BEST BIRTHDAY EVAH!!! I've eaten at the Sugar Bar several times when I've visited New York and have had great experiences there. This time, I invited my Girlfriends and my Sister to celebrate my Birthday. The place was quiet (as there was a cancellation of entertainment), however the music and conversation made for a joyful atmosphere. The food was outstanding; the service, excellent! Thank you to the Sugar Bar for a wonderful experience. Our first night in New York was truly memorable....

I heard so many great reviews about your restaurant. Therefore, I decided I wanted to celebrate my 60th birthday to experience what my friends talked about. My friend fiancé came also to celebrate his 55th birthday. We made reservations for 8/16/24 @ 7:30pm. I received a phone call to confirm and was told about the live entertainment and the $20 cover charge. After getting to the restaurant, we paid the cover charge. We were seated in the back and was told we would have to watch the live entertainment on the television screen. I express to the lady that we wanted to sit up front to see the live entertainment in person but was told we couldn’t. We flew from Texas and was so disappointed. This was not what I expected as a birthday celebration. One person at the table order was completely wrong and both people who ordered the greens had to send them back because they were cold, they microwave them warm and brought them back out. The manager never came out to check on the table after all the mishaps.
