Always loved their crispy fried chicken! It must have been an off night. Some of the side dishes were cold, service left much to be desired. I'll still go back to give them another chance.

Everything was delicious. The only thing that was wrong was our order. He gave us chicken instead of pork chops. But other than that everything was fine.

This is one of my favorite places to have Brunch, although the greeter at the front desk never remembers us (she says they have too many customers). Sure enough, this past Sunday the restaurant was packed with customers. Diners sat outside in the restaurant's cubicle and in the rear part of the restaurant (quizzically referred to as its "garden." That it is not. There are two large TV screens in the rear section and about four tables, too close for comfort. The service was very slow. The breakfast, however, was quite good--served hot. But the Brunch did not come with toast or any resembling a English muffin. We requested cornbread--which arrived midway through our dining. ONE tiny slice of cornbread was served for we TWO diners! What was that? My sign ("complaint") was ignored. The one small piece of cornbread was cut in half, the server explained. Talk about nonsensical and tacky!!! My emails to the restaurant's management don't seem ever to be responded to; so there was never any explanation for chnsiness. We bothh had the pan seared catfish and grits--delicious, but too small a portion to warrant being called "BRUNCH>" The Brunch for $10 more came with a mimosa or (in my case) half-a-glass of OJ. Talk about stinginess! This COULD be a very nice place if the help were better trained and friendlier and more accommodating to hungry customers, customers like us who tip well. Oh, yes, the restaurant adds an 18% gratuity to the bill and leaves a line for the diners to add to the mandatory 18% tip. Don't they know that, too, is TACKY? Mickey Michaels

This was more than dinner. It was an amazing dining experience. the folks were so very kind, considerate, and professional. If you want to have dinner you can eat anywhere but if you want to have dinner with top notch service and delicious food, eat at Sugar Bar!

Always a fabulous time at Sugar Bar! Food is on point and outstanding. Feels like home every time we go. The service was exceptional. The hostess was accommodating. My out-of-town family really enjoyed the food and the fun we had being together with all the laughs.

A random google search for a restaurant near the Beacon theater I found Sugar Bar. Amazing food, wonderful and attentive staff, and the cocktails were good, too! This is now my uptown restaurant whenever I travel to NYC.

Intimate restaurant and bar. We enjoyed a generous portion of perfectly seasoned fried catfish strips that were hot, crispy and tender. It is a large enough portion to share. Drinks were good, too. The entertainment this night was an acoustic duo “That Guy and Him.” Good music and fun banter with the audience. Would definitely go back.
