I thought that the food was just okay. I ordered peach cobbler for dessert and was disappointed. It came in two small containers and did not have any crust. I’ve never had cobbler with no crust. The warm potato salad was just potatoes and mayo.

This restaurant is consistently good. I was here last year and had the chicken and waffles and was pleasantly surprised with the flavors… fast forward and the dish is still delicious.

We had to wait 30 minutes to be seated even with the reservation which was a sign of things to come. Our server was polite and our food came out in good timing (thanks kitchen team). A drink I ordered at the very beginning of our service before appetizers was warm instead of cold and we were told another would be brought out asap. That drink was not delivered until after our last of 6 courses was served. Then we were charged double. Anyway, the food was good and the service was fair because he could not remember to deliver anything we asked for. It is a good thing that the kitchen delivered all of our courses for him. I don’t think we will go back as the total meal was a 5 out of 10. The Fried green tomato salad and catfish were both an 8!

If looking for southern cuisine, Succotash is your spot at the National Harbor. Everything we orders was delicious and the Old Fashioneds were outstanding!

I was staying at National Harbor and looking for a nice restaurant to have dinner with friends. Succotash was recommended and after seeing some negative views I went against my better judgement and booked a reservation. The table was ready upon arrival and we were greeted by a wonderful host and waitress. The ambience was fine and we were happy with our table. Service was prompt. However, I initially ordered the chicken and waffles. I asked in advancements chicken was cook hard or crispy and the waitress said now. The chicken arrived a hearty portion, 2 legs and 2 thighs. I did not like there was no option for white meat. But the chicken was burnt!! It was very very and greasy. On the legs it was so overcooked the bone was exposed. There 4 pieces of chicken but just 1 waffle buried underneath. The sides were not desirable at all. My friends ordered the salmon and were not satisfied. I sent my chicken back and got salmon and I too was dissatisfied. Their was absolutely no seasoning on the salmon. I didn’t like the vegetable medley. I ordered a side of fries and this was the most satisfying part of my dinner. Unfortunately I would not refer succotash nor return there for an2nd visit.

Attentive and above and beyond staff! Food is superb and have eaten there multiple times when on a work trip and kept going back for their service and their food. Their take on shrimp and grits is (chef’s kiss) deliciousness. That jalapeño oil hits just right with the creamy grits. The pimento cheese burger is juicy and oh so good! Make sure you get extra napkins and ask for a side of the fried pickle sauce to dip your fries in!
