Our menu features Rustic Italian Recipes, Thin Crust Pizzas & Fresh Pastas. Stoneground Italian is located downtown in a second-story loft overlooking the architecturally acclaimed Salt Lake City Public Library. Since opening in 2000, owner Bob McCarthy has been cooking up a dining experience that’s warm, welcoming and firmly planted in his Irish-Italian roots. He takes a simple approach to serving delicious food: always fresh and house-made.
The environment at Stoneground is cool and casual; some describe it as a rustic/urban vibe. You’ll feel comfortable dressed as you are. The window tables have mesmerizing views and are ideal for intimate dining occasions. The outdoor deck seats about 40-people and is the go-to spot for your fair weather celebrations. 4 of us got my 75th birthday dinner. Lasagne salmon carbonara & paparadelle dishes were all excellent . Also had an amazing arancina. Our waitress was wonderful.

I’ve been going to Stoneground for 17 years my husband and I had our first date here. The service is always excellent the food is even better. Would recommend anyone to try it.

Our appetizers were nothing special. Pasta dish was very good and pizza was very good. Wonderful service and ambiance, and parking in back is amazing.

I loved it! I went for my boyfriend’s birthday and he loved it too We really enjoyed the food and the wine. The waitress was so nice and she had a lot of knowledge to give us suggestions. A perfect place for a romantic dinner and talk. We’re going to come back soon.

Great service and wonderful meal. Highly recommend the black tagliatelle and the seafood pasta special - generous portions and excellent pasta.

Food is ok overpriced service was good great environment inside the restaurant , parking and surrounding areas are not super safe at night

The Filet was overcooked. Ordered MR and was served MW. Waitress never asked “how was the steak/meal”. Probably the worst steak ever. Taste more like hamburger. Lasagna was extremely greasy. All other meals were fine.

Everything we ordered was delicious and the whole ambience/experience was lovely. We highly recommend the prosciutto wrapped asparagus and the bolognese.
