PLEASE NOTE: FOR WEEKDAY LUNCH RESERVATIONS, STEEL & RYE OFFERS COUNTER SERVICE FROM OUR BAKERY BETWEEN 7:00 A.M. AND 4:00PM (Mondays until 2:30pm).

All reservations after 4pm for Dinner will be provided full table service and are for inside tables only. Outside tables are currently first come, first served and orders may be placed via QR code.

This year we’ve made some big changes at Steel & Rye! Our former private dining area is now home to our new bakery kitchen. We have loved hosting private events in the past, however no longer have a private space to offer. At this time, we are pleased to offer regular dining reservations for groups of up to 18 guests. Please call our main line at 617-690-2787 and speak with one of our managers or email us at contact@steelandrye.com to make a reservation for parties between 12-18 guests.

Steel Rye is always my favorite and the service cannot be beat. My lasagna was delicious very rich but good and the Caesar salad was fresh crispy and tasty.

Pork Milanese was bursting with flavors and was a huge portion while others at the table had more moderate portions with their entrees. Everyone at our table loved their entrees.

Great menu and excellent service. The restaurant can be a bit noisy at times; at our request, we were seated in a quieter section, which we really appreciated.

Terrible experience from start to finish. I had noted that it was my pregnant wife’s birthday when making the reservation, yet we were given a terrible table in the middle of the room, with an uneven surface and hard wooden chairs—far from comfortable for a pregnant woman. When I asked to be moved, the server claimed there were no other options, yet moments later, another couple was seated at a much better table with a cushioned bench. The food was equally disappointing. Portions were ridiculously small for the price, and the so-called “buffalo chicken” was a joke. Instead of wings, we got mostly drumsticks, and the sauce was some kind of pink mayo mix instead of real buffalo sauce. To make matters worse, they don’t even offer blue cheese—an absolute must for buffalo wings. Overall, an overpriced and poorly managed restaurant that does not care about customer comfort or expectations. Would not recommend.

This was our 2nd time eating at steel & rye, we loved the food so much the first time when it came to thinking of where to go for valentines we both said the same place, my favorites were the meatballs, Brussel sprouts and Gnudi!
