PLEASE NOTE: FOR WEEKDAY LUNCH RESERVATIONS, STEEL & RYE OFFERS COUNTER SERVICE FROM OUR BAKERY BETWEEN 7:00 A.M. AND 4:00PM (Mondays until 2:30pm).

All reservations after 4pm for Dinner will be provided full table service and are for inside tables only. Outside tables are currently first come, first served and orders may be placed via QR code.

This year we’ve made some big changes at Steel & Rye! Our former private dining area is now home to our new bakery kitchen. We have loved hosting private events in the past, however no longer have a private space to offer. At this time, we are pleased to offer regular dining reservations for groups of up to 18 guests. Please call our main line at 617-690-2787 and speak with one of our managers or email us at contact@steelandrye.com to make a reservation for parties between 12-18 guests.

I wish more restaurants held this standard of customer service. Kind personable genuine staff, food came quickly, and it was delicious.

Old favorite restaurant of mine, I brought my son and daughter-in-law last night and we had a variety of drinks and food. It was all absolutely delicious. And Monica was a terrific wait person.

We went to steel and rye for brunch my friend and I both had eggs Benedict, which was made with cream, spinach, ham, poached, and eggs. The cream spinach was gratuitous in this dish, and the sauce was bland, without the lemony tang that makes this dish so special. S&R really needs to rethink how they make this. In addition the restaurant was very noisy making it hard to have a conversation. Service was slow and staff inattentive. I would have trouble recommending this tip to my friends.

Hi Janet, thank you for visiting and I'm so sorry that you didn't love your experience at Brunch. The sauce did change on that dish from the hollandaise which it sounds like you're used to. We will also follow up with your server to see how service could have been more prompt and attentive. I'm very sorry that we missed the mark with you and your friend. I would love to invite you back in to give us another try, could you email us and I'd love send over a gift card? We would love the opportunity to have you in again.

Great experience. Warm welcome and great seating at hightop in the bar area. Lively crowd, prompt service and interesting varied menu. Our cocktails were expertly prepared and the cuba libra was particularly tasty. Mains were both halibut. Perfectly cooked and presented. Overall, a great neighborhood restaurant with a great vibe. Our waiter, Mikey, was very helpful and attentive.
