Come to Steamship Grill & Bar as you are. There you will unwind; feeling more relaxed, refreshed and refueled as your visit unfolds. Casual, yet upscale, the atmosphere will be comfortable and welcoming to locals and visitors to the Inner Harbour. The decor honours the heritage of the working waterfront with elements that compliment the timeless quality of the original Steamship Terminal building.

Our chef’s approach will emphasize hand-crafted and ethically produced ingredients featuring British Columbia and, in particular, Vancouver Island ranchers, micro-brewers, vintners and artisanal producers that share his vision and passion for fresh, local & sustainable.

Our bar features the best local and international wines including 8 signature by-the-tap varietals. Our draught selection features local breweries dedicated to their craft.

This will cater to not only a working business-style luncheon or dinner function, but also to special occasion diners celebrating a birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc.In conjunction with the Bateman Gallery above us, we will also be able to cater to larger groups (up to 80). We can accommodate anything from a stand up cocktail and appetizer style reception to a full sit down dinner.

We placed an order for pizza and when, after a considerable time, it had not arrived we discovered that the order had not been placed with kitchen. Also the noise level, music with loud persistent beat, was disturbing

The restaurant itself is excellent. Food is fabulous. A bit expensive, but certainly worth the price. However, I was disappointed with the service we received. I had booked a day ahead and made a special request to be seated near the glass overlooking the harbour, but the request was completely ignored. Even while I was standing there, I watched her give the last good table to the walk-in in front of me. Very disappointing. The waitress was good, but the hostess basically ignored everyone waiting to check in. We had to bully our way to the front to be served since she took no notice of who had waited the longest. Good thing the food made it worthwhile!

This is such a pleasant surprise in Victoria! Unusual building adds to the ambience. Employees all over Victoria have been so kind but this restaurant was over the top! Happy hour and the menu prices are so much better here than other hotels&restaurants nearby.We will return again prior to our flight leaving!

The seafood was excellent but there was to much sauce with the ravioli. There was also to much broth with the fat tug mussels and clams. They were tasty though.

Solid place to eat, a tickle overpriced but they slid us in late in the day right before the kitchen closed. Kind people attended to us, the food was nothing special but it was good

We had a 6:30 reservation on a beautiful day and were able to sit out on the patio overlooking the bay - it was a wonderful atmosphere. Unfortunately the service we experienced was really disappointing - our food did not arrive until over an hour after we sat down. At 7:20 when we were checked on by our server, we asked to make sure the kitchen had our order. After checking with the kitchen our waitress informed us that the kitchen has only had our ticket for 30 minutes, which wasn’t true, besides being a rude way to say that the kitchen was running behind. When the food finally came out after an hour since we’d sat down, the appetizer was forgotten completely and we got our entrees. When we asked if the appetizer was still coming out, we were informed that the kitchen didn’t make it and that if we still wanted it (we did) it would take another 10-15 minutes. This was meant to be a birthday dinner and the hostess who checked us in called out the celebration listed on our reservation, but there was zero acknowledgement of the birthday once we left the hostess stand. We didn’t have another hour to wait for dessert and decided to go elsewhere to finish the evening, so we asked for the check. We then waited another 10 minutes and were told that it was taking a while as they were working on discounting the missed appetizer, but that discount ended up being $5 on the $20 item. I’m so glad we had a pretty view and lovely weather, but unfortunately that wasn’t enough to make up for paying $195 instead of $200 on a meal that took nearly 2 hours, when 1.25 of that time was waiting. Something must have been going on this evening, as we overheard other tables expressing concern about the long wait for food/drinks and the cavalier attitude of the staff.

Took 30 minutes to get water I had to go to bar and get it myself. I had to pull aside waiter and let her know we hadn’t been helped yet

The view was exceptional off the patio and the prices were reasonable. The kids meals were inexpensive and a fair size. It was by no means a kids restaurant as they ambiance was very nice. the service was a little bit slow, but they were very busy and the view made up for it.
