Great food, great service- you pay for that. Some tables are close to one another,you can hear them.

I have previously dined at St Elmo's about 25 years ago. In town for a conference so I took a group for dinner and it did not disappoint. As always the shrimp cocktail was amazing, the cowboy ribeye was mouth watering and the cocktails were excellent. Deffinitley my go to when in Indy.

Made reservations for the previous evening but due to traffic we were not able to make it. Rescheduled to the following day after a Fever game. Concern was dress code as we’d be going to dinner immediately following the game. After dinner we were heading back to TN to go home. We were accepted in, felt underdressed for sure. Regardless we were sat at our table and treated like any other patron. Food was delicious, prices was comparable to other steakhouses that we’ve dined at. The Brussel sprouts were amazing! Steak cooked perfectly and mashed potatoes were really good. Had lobster bisque and navy bean soup, both were flavorful.

Steaks were top of the line. They were perfectly cooked. Our server, Anthony, was amazing. Don't sleep on the navy bean soup!

For the prices the food should be even better. The steaks were good but not outstanding. The soups were fine. The shrimp were good but smaller than most steakhouse shrimp cocktail. The value isn’t quite there.

This has been our favorite place for special occasions for years.. Granted we only come 3-4 times a year, but we always looked forward to it. What happened since we were there in April? We were so disappointed in our server. Took a long time to even take our drink orders. Then it took quite a while to get our apps. He didn't check on us much so it took a while to get refills on drinks. My husband asked for more bread because it was taking a while for our entrees. Our server said he'd be right back with it but that didn't happen. We finally asked the guy busing the table next to us if he could check on it. Still no luck. Our entrees finally came but my husbands crab Mac & cheese was not brought out. He told the food runner who said he'd go get it. That didn't happen. We asked about it 2 more times and our server finally stopped as he was passing and said he was going to get it right then. Nope. Probably another 10 mins went by before he got it. We were 1/2 way through our meals by then. The bread didn't come out until after we got our entrees. This is the first time we've ever had such a bad experience. The cost of the Mac & cheese was removed from our bill and that was very thoughtful. This was our visit for my husband's birthday and he looks so forward to his steak. This is the first time he's been disappointed. He got the cowboy ribeye and it was a very thin cut so it over cooked and about 1/3 of it was burnt. He ate what he could because he hadn't eat all day. His baked potato was perfect. He took his piece of cheesecake home to eat later and he said it was excellent. It wasn't extremely busy so we don't know what happened. We hope this was just a bad night. We're not willing to give up yet. Even the construction couldn't keep us away! Thanks for 'listening'.

First time at St. Elmo’s(although I have had the shrimp at local festivals). Really outstanding service and delectable food. Not sure I liked the room we were in. Other rooms we saw brought out the ambiance of the 1930’s or so. Highly recommended.
