    I always thoroughly enjoy dinners at Sorrel - they are consistently of a high standard and the service is always professional, friendly and prompt. Lovely ambience, too. Unlike many restaurants, it is consistently excellent. One suggestion I would make: when outlining the specials it would be appreciated if our server would mention the price . My companion and I ordered Dover Sole from the list of specials and it turned out to be $90 per order. Ouch! While I’m aware Dover sole is a much more expensive fish if I’d known it was that steep I wouldn’t have ordered it as there are plenty of delicious fish options on the menu. I don’t blame the server but I would appreciate transparency on the part of the restaurant when the special is double the price of most other items. Otherwise, a first rate experience.

    It’s always an excellent experience at Sorrel! I took my mom for her 80th birthday and they didn’t disappoint. We had oysters and their Niçoise salad. Beautifully presented and delicious. It went very well with a glass of Sancerre. If we want to have a great experience, we always choose Sorrel!

    Sorrel remains one of Toronto’s absolute gems. As specific as these comments might seem / it is infrequent that you are served year over year by career waiters that get to know you - that both inform and form part of the Sorrel experience. That blend of high performance execution combined with simply best in class dining makes it the perfect repeat destination. Kudo’s to Faro and Sarah for their stewardship of this Toronto restaurant landmark.

    Wow what a disappointment. Never have I ever been treated with so much disrespect in an establishment. I walked in the building first and behind me was a family of 4. Every single person greeted the family before even acknowledging me, even as I stood further ahead of them. Finally the female manager says hi to them AGAIN, and the family kindly tells her, that I was first. She finally looks at me and I tell her, wow you all just ignored me. No apology, nothing. She shows me to my table that I had a reservation for. Later then when we order our food. Our server did not have his full attention as I had repeat my drink order twice. The server never repeated back our orders to us, and when we get our mains, my order is incorrect. They were able to correct my order quickly. But when we settled our bill. We tipped 18% and he takes the payment terminal and walks away. No thank you. Nothing. I’m not sure if my race or age was a factor in their neglect. Or that these people care more about flipping tables and getting guests in and out of the door quickly. But I will never come back to this establishment. What a shame.

    My friends recommended this restaurant, so I decided to book a dinner there this weekend. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the experience. The grilled calamari were burnt and lacked flavor, and the mussels and broth were also bland and tasteless. It seemed like no spices were used for either dish—no salt, pepper, parsley, cilantro, garlic, lemon, or celery. The arugula salad was just okay, and the beef tartare didn’t impress us either. After such a disappointing start, we chose not to order any main courses. I would not go back 🤷‍♀️

    Was expected more. White wine served warm. Very noisy. Chocolate torte over baked. The fish was great though.

    We had an outstanding time at Sorrel Rosedale for my wife's birthday. Right from the start, you enter into a warm, energetic but relaxed atmosphere. The decor was understated and elegant. The staff were attentive, greeted us quickly and were very pleasent throughout our dinner. To say nothing of our meal. The food, in a word, was delicious!
