Priding ourselves on our motto ‘Famous for fish’ Smiths Restaurants is a name that has become synonymous with fine dining and quality, attentive service. Our restaurants are located in Ongar Essex (just off the A414) and Wapping in central London (near Tower Bridge). Both restaurants boast an extensive menu of fresh fish that we offer to cook in a variety of ways to suit every palette. We also offer locally sourced meat dishes to accommodate those who prefer their food terra firma. To compliment the quality of our food we have worked closely with well renowned independent wine merchants to ensure we have a selection of wines that are the perfect accompaniment to every meal. The only problem you may have a Smith’s is being spoilt for choice.

This was a birthday treat for my wife. We a table of 5, were very impressed with all the staff, the starters, main and deserts, we could not fault it in any way. Thank you so much for making my wife, a very happy lady.

The service and food are excellent, unless it is always disappointing that some tables think they are the only people in the restaurant and are loud and obnoxious and the management do nothing about it. This happens virtually every time I’m in Smiths, can’t fault the food or service, but if is in Essex, so I should really know what to expect.

Excellent food & service. The ‘set’ menu is very good value and still has a wide range of choices. The staff are really what sets this place apart - friendly and attentive without being over the top intrusive.
