Skates on the Bay est réputé pour ses ingrédients frais du marché, son menu innovant et ses vues spectaculaires sur la baie, le Golden Gate Bridge, le Bay Bridge et San Francisco. Ce magnifique et historique lieu de rassemblement situé sur le front de mer est l’endroit à ne pas manquer pour déguster les fruits de mer frais et apprécier les vues inégalées de la baie de San Francisco. Cet établissement a récemment terminé (avril 2012), une rénovation majeure du design intérieur, y compris l'ajout d'un nouveau bar, une salle à manger privée dont les façades sont en verre sans oublier des menus innovants. Ouvert en 1983 dans la marina de Berkeley, Skates on the Bay, nouvelle version, est un superbe restaurant pour profiter des cocktails lors de coucher du soleil, des Happy Hour jusque tard dans la nuit. Staff was friendly professional, efficient and honored our seating request Our server Antoinette was delightful, friendly, responsive and helpful. Food was up to Skates standard and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening

Delicious food and ambience. Loved our table by the window. Service was great too. We definitely will return next time we are in town.

Everything was outstanding! The server, Mark, was very attentive and sensitive to our dining needs. The food was delicious, as usual, from start to finish. The ambiance was being seated right on the water and watching a beautiful sunset unfold. Other staff were friendly an helpful. I felt very relaxed during the meal and after I went home. I recommend Skates on the Bay most highly!

Excellent table on the water’s edge with gorgeous views. Crab leg appetizer was great. The swordfish grilled with the avocado lime salsa was the best I have ever had. Good wine list and excellent bar. I will be back every time I am in Berkeley.

QUICK REVIEW: Nice view, Great service, Cuisine was better this time. Solid 4.8 Stars. Recommend. Yes, we will be back. LONGER REVIEW: This was our second time to Skates. First time was very good - but not out of the ordinary. This time we both agreed it was much improved on multiple levels. SERVICE: Seated promptly at reservation time at a booth by request. Great view. Ryan - our main server - was Awesome. She was there when you needed her, with a great attitude and advice. Nice job! FOOD and COCKTAILS. Had a Red Blend and Cab from their signature list. Very nice California selection by the glass. Cocktail list looked yummy but did not partake this time. Shrimp cocktail to table share, Swordfish and Surf and Turf pasta for mains. All perfectly cooked, and nothing left on the plate. Very tasty, all were excellent this time around. The "banana split" to share at the end - all gone. OVERALL: Skates was a pleasant surprise this time around. Recommend. YES, we would go back. Worth the little trek to the Berkeley Marina area.
