    Serrano's take on Italian cuisine is excellent. I particularly liked the tuna appetizer. The accompanying tomato/cucumber sauce was perfect for a warm summer night.

    It seemed that Serratto was hit with a very heavy dinner load (around 6:00pm) and service quality suffered thereafter.....

    The best thing about this place is their wine list… unfortunately the food was mediocre.

    We have been to Serrato before and have had great experiences with delicious food and excellent service. Unfortunately, our most recent experience fell short of our expectations. We were 4 adults and 2 toddlers and our bill was over $400 when the 20% automatic gratuity was applied (for parties of 6 or more). We are OK with an occasional large dinner check, but we do expect high quality food and service for that price. On this visit, several problems left us feeling shortchanged: 1. We had an early Saturday dinner reservation (5:15) and it didn’t seem exceptionally busy, but overall service was still slow. 2. Apart from taking our orders, our server only checked on us one time, right before the check, to ask if we wanted to order more wine. Other servers delivered our starters, entrees, and dessert. No one came to check on us after any of these deliveries. 3. Each time we needed something, we had to hunt someone down. Our server took our drinks and starters order, but we had to go find him to place our dinner order nearly 30 min later. We had to find someone to give us utensils. We had to follow up on a missing coffee order. 4. If it had been very busy, we may have understood some of these challenges. But this was disappointing for an earlier, slower time, when we had 2 hungry kiddos. On a previous visit, a thoughtful server had taken our kids’ order right away and brought their food out first, which was much appreciated. On this visit, we gave our kiddos food we keep on hand since an hour after we arrived, their food had not yet arrived. 5. We were charged for food we ordered but did not receive (to their credit, this was corrected after we pointed it out) 6. On the food quality side, our steak was very good, but our chicken was too salty. Our pasta dishes and desserts were good. In summary, $400 for 4 adults and 2 kids is too steep for a poor service experience. We hope this is an exception and not a new norm, or we will get our future dinners elsewhere.

    Excellent italian, particularly the burrata appetizer and bolognese. Service is excellent and the setting, with the big wooden beams, is great. Highly recommend.
