Jay (our server) was attentive and knowledgeable. This second visit was as good as the first. We ordered the cheese board, a pair of seasonal drinks, and our main courses were lamb chops and NY strips au poivre. The meals was great. Definitely recommend Schlesinger’s Chop House for a great meal and nice ambiance during your meal.

Schlesingers is THE place to dine at special occasions but also when you want a GREAT meal with outstanding service. My wife and I rate it the #1 restaurant restaurant in all of Hampton roads.

I had only been to lunch at Schlesinger’s before and decided with my birthday coupon. I would take advantage of going to dinner. My son came with me and it was his first time at Schlesinger’s. I chose the filet mignon and garlic smashers with a side of the vegetable medley. All were absolutely amazing!! Especially the filet mignon and the garlic mashers! The kind of experience where when you take a bite, you sigh because it tastes so so good!! My son (26) is a picky eater and chose from the bar menu and got the smashed burger, fries, and macaroni and cheese. He also enjoyed his meal and devoured his smashed burger and macaroni and cheese saying it was the best he had ever had!!! Please note, because my coupon was for two Dinner Entrees, I knew that the “bar menu” was not considered the “dinner menu”. I called to confirm that as long as I bought one dinner, that I could use my coupon which of course would be used on the least expensive meal. So, even though Schlesinger’s was expensive, even with my coupon, we highly recommend this restaurant! The Food, the staff, and the ambience were all OUTSTANDING!!

I made reservations for my wife’s birthday, and I feel like I wasted my time. There was no reserved table for us, we had to wait for someone to get up. We were there at 640pm, and our reservations were at 645pm. There was no birthday card, no balloons, nothing for my wife. I specifically told the restaurant what I wanted, and they did not accommodate us. They didn’t even call me to tell me they could not accommodate us. Don’t make reservations at this restaurant, just walk in; you will get seated.
