    Always delicious! The stuffed pasta entree with peas was amazing as were the scallops and my husband loved the duck! Chocolate mousse delicious too!

    The food was legitimately wonderful. Our server was polite but seemed a bit distant and we went long stretches without seeing him. After dessert, a second server we hadn’t seen yet brought us a panna cotta we hadn’t ordered. I assumed this was a “compliments of the chef” extra as we had ordered a good amount of food and wine and were expecting a several hundred dollar bill for two people. My partner, who is a former server in several fine dining establishments, suspected it was given to us by mistake. Sure enough, another panna cotta comes out a few minutes later and arrives at the table next to us. A typical and understandable mixup. Except a few minutes later the extra dessert was on our bill. My partner didn’t want to end the evening with any sort of confrontation, and since we gladly ate it I didn’t dispute it. But we watched these two servers figure out their error, order another dessert for the correct table, and not remove the erroneous dessert from my bill. I feel that this was deliberate and it made me view the curt service we received from the beginning of the meal to the end in a rather different, unwelcoming light. This was not our first meal at Scaramouche, but unfortunately it will likely be our last.

    Scaramouche has been my favourite restaurant for many years. I was very disappointed in my most recent visit. It felt like they were cutting corners and unwelcoming to people with dietary issues. This seems so odd in 2024 not to have gluten free appetizers or desserts. Service was odd - the food was delicious as always. BUT…

    Excellent food! Compliments to the kitchen staff! Our attending waiter was absent for the most part. Made our experience somewhat disappointing, but the rest of our experience made up for it.

    Two appetizer specials of which the chopped shrimp/lobster salad was outstanding with a nice amount of crunch added. The lamb ragout was excellent; without the strong lamb flavour which I liked. Dessert was a rasperry and pistachio delight which finished off the evening perfectly. Service and ambiance - sophisticated and unobtrusive.
