Sansei, qui signifie troisième génération, est un restaurant japonais contemporain aux mains d'un propriétaire local qui offre des sushis nouvelle vague. La force derrière la nourriture est le chef / propriétaire Dave "DK" Kodama. Warm sashimi … he got undercooked steak . Sent back . Got drinks an hour after ordering . Then I got to sit and watch him eat . After they finally cooked steak correctly .

We invited our friends from the mainland for dinner to Sansei. I'd have to say, they were not disappointed. We enjoyed everything we ordered. What's more, our server did such a great job catering to us.

I set a reservation at 9:30. I showed up at 9:30 and they said oh sorry sir we close at 9:30. So they wouldn’t seat me. Yet they were still accepting reservations till 10. Don’t accept reservations if you’re not gonna seat guests

The advertisement for specials was a bit confusing, but we were able to get the perfect dish for each of us.. Our waiter, Sean, was friendly, efficient, and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal: Crab Ramen, Chirashi Bowl, and the Moana Platter. Everything was scrumptious and the sashimi were fresh and onolicious. We had to complete our meal with Mama Kodama’s famous brownie sundae. A great way to end our meal.

Food and service was good. Had a half hour wait before being seated though we had reservations. Receptionist was obviously tired, overwhelmed or just disinterested in being especially friendly. FYI the restaurant is divided between seafood (sushi) and steak sections (though food could be ordered from steak menu from sushi area). Sushi and waitress were great!

Great food and inventive combinations. Always enjoy the food, especially waikiki moonlight roll and truffle crab ramen. Kitchen service was great for first four orders and slow for second four orders. Fries were forgotten and had to remind server. Only one server for first 90 minutes until runners and servers were added.

I’ve been coming to Sansei for over 20 years since they opened in Kapalua Maui. So it was nice to visit this location again. Decided to bring some visiting relatives for a good meal. It’s great that you can also order from the DK Steakhouse menu as well. Our server was great, nice guy from the Big Island. We ordered a few rolls, sashimi, their famous apps like the dynamite shrimp, and a couple of ribeyes from the steakhouse menu. Very delicious and everyone enjoyed. Located at the Marriott Waikiki right across the beach. Always a good time!

What a wonderful meal! The flavors were wonderful and the service was spot-on! We had sushi as an appetizer and a seafood main. If you’re looking for a high quality seafood restaurant on Waikiki, DK and team will not disappoint! Thanks!
