Went here for my birthday and had a fantastic time with excellent service! The staff are super attentive and an excellent cozy atmosphere. Delicious food. Definitely recommend getting a starter of some kind to share and a side to share as well if you're very hungry, but most of the portion sizes are good. The only thing that took our party by surprise was the extra charge for "fancy" bottled water for the table. This is a usual charge at European restaurants but came as a bit of shock to us on the bill in NYC. Just ask for tap if you don't want to be over charged for underwhelming water.

Ordinary Italian food in a small, intimate setting. Beet carpaccio excellent. Paccheri al pomodori , which is a basic tomato and burrata sauce not very good, nor was the pane, burro e alici (very dry, small pieces of “brioche” bread, not good at all). Crostone di ricotta quite good. I would not rush back.

What an amazing experience. The service was nothing short of attentive and kind. The ambience was simple, comfortable and beautiful. The food was incredible! Some of the best Italian food I’ve eaten outside of Italy. Highly recommend, will be returning - multiple times.

We live a few blocks south of San Carlo and had stopped there randomly one evening sometime in the spring. The staff was gracious and offered us a table outside for the next hour or so, until a reservation showed up. We remembered and decided to have a proper lunch there today. What a lovely experience...the food is delicious (fresh pastas) and the bartender was kind enough to make us lemonade from scratch (for dry January). We were welcomed and taken care of by a joyful and professional staff - Domenico introduced himself. We had the added pleasure of live music (a bassist and trumpet player). The perfect treat for a cold, wintry day. We will hurry back and I encourage others to do so too!
