C'est en 1966 que l'histoire du restaurant Sammy's Fishbox a débuté. Ils sont passés de petit casse-croûte de 26 places à un grand restaurant de 500 places préparant plus d'un million de plats annuellement. La croissance a été phénoménale et très gratifiante pour le personnel du Sammy's Fishbox. Depuis le début, ils croient que certaines choses sont aussi vraies aujourd'hui qu'elles l'étaient dans le passé : la qualité attire les clients et c'est là toute la valeur du restaurant. Portion sizes are generous. Bread service was impressive and included. I ordered fried shrimp which had no flavor. Why not lightly season the shrimp and/or the batter? Same with the side pasta dish with garlic and oil. Although you saw the garlic, there was still no taste as it lacked salt. Cocktails were brought out in plastic “glasses”. Service was on point.

Been going to Sammy's Fish Box for many years. I must say that this time I was a bit more disappointed than ever. The reservation was good and I was seated immediately. The server that came was a female who said she was going to be my server. She never returned and a male said he was now my waiter. Ok. He wasn't as attentive as I was used to being a customer all these years. Needless to say the service was slower than usual. The back area where I was seated looked as though it had recently been painted and the lighting updated. That was a Plus (although the paint job was a bit sloppy around the red pipes). I noticed the food prices had jumped about 20 dollars more for the feast for 2 plates since last I came here. When the food came,. I was a bit disappointed to see that it appeared the amount of seafood given had been reduced and it appeared more spaghetti was in its place. That didn't justify the price increase at all. Skipped on dessert because the bill was a bit more whopping than I had anticipated. Also there was a child screaming loudly the entire time 1 table away. Hence the noise/ambiance rating being lower. Truly wish everything (except the decor) would revert back to the way it was at least 5 years ago. (More food, more affordable prices and spectacular service). It's just not the same Sammy's that I recall. Just being honest.

Being from Cape Cod, I can tell you that most of the food here is just OK. If this restaurant tried to survive on Cape Cod, it would not last six months. Nothing I had was terrible, but none of it was very good either.

Meals are large and worth the price. Had leftovers for lunch to next day. My husband was able to have lunch and dinner the next day.
