Service very poor. Was there during happy hour. Ordered drinks which were supposed to be at happy hour prices. Our dinner order consisted of an appetizer and entries. The main course entries were served within minutes of the appetizer. I protested but allowed the entries to remain on the table while we finished the appetizer. The bill that was presented included the cocktails at non happy hour prices, I again protested. The server proceeded to have the bill corrected, However, the cocktails were reduced by $2.00. I'm not one for a scene, but it was at this point I decided that the Salt & Barrel restaurant would no longer be on my "go to" list".

I was so pleasantly surprised by the plethora of seafood choices at a good price point. Their Frose (Frozen Rose) is delicious and homemade. I can't wait to take my husband there this summer!

We come for the inventive, often-changing cocktail menu and the fresh oysters, but the entrees and appetizers are great as well. Noisier at the normally crowded bar, so we usually sit in the quieter dining room. Higher priced, but well worth it for the quality of food, drink, art-deco inspired ambiance and quick, professional service. One of my favorite spots on the island.

Ask for Vincent as your waiter — you will not be disappointed!! Greatest seafood on Long Island!! Love this place.

Our server behind the bar was almost bothered by us sitting down for our reservation. She would walk away before we even finished speaking or ordering. My husband and I ordered our entrees, the same meal. She brought out one minutes later and walked away without saying anything. I asked her if the other entree would be coming out soon and she said i'll check on it. Disappeared and another server came over to cut our meal in half while we waited over 15 minutes for the second entree. She obviously forgot to put in 2, or didn't listen to what we actually ordered, and didn't care to apologize. The second server was very nice, but the first one made me feel that our experience was not worth the $120 we paid.

Yummy brunch, especially the avocado toast and the tarragon biscuits. Attentive waiter who was very kind to my two year old toddler and brought his dish out first. Means a lot for a toddler parent! Outdoor seating was lovely too.
