    If you are coming to Jacksonville Florida and you want to impress….. this is the place to bring your guest. I may sound like a paid advertisement but rest assured I live here I work in JAX and I come here very very often. The ambience is unbelievably serene sitting right in the banks of our beautiful St John’s River with a view of the Main Street bridge and city skyline…. Only the food is better I have only ever tried one thing Ruth’s classic 6 oz filet med rare with a lobster tail and sweet potato casserole to compliment upgrade to the chopped salad and you will be glad you did. All of the servers are friendly courteous and kind helpful to each other the food runner is from Albania has been here first ever or at least as long as I have been visiting. You deserve a little extra pampering when you work so hard so visit here let them wait on you enjoy the service savour the food take home the leftovers, portions are huge….this is a 5 star restaurant I have visited them in every town I end up have never been disappointed….best to dress for success it’s a fancy place and always do right by your servers…. Tip them they will appreciate it I always get good service maybe that’s why I recognise attentiveness… only thing I despise about this place is the fact they call and call after you purposely make a reservation to see if you really are coming? I don’t get that? Sometimes slow to get seated even after you make a reservation and show up for the reservation. They seem to be good at making the reservation but not good at keeping the reservation ….. which in reality is the most important part of the reservation… keeping it. Why make me wait another 20 minutes for you to get my table ready? Five stars for this place.-*****

    We were seated in very back near end of large party with pictures and children - no acknowledgement for at least 15 minutes no server for 1/2 hour - took drink order and food - food came no drink or visit from server - we left - this is not the experience we were expecting or accepting for such poor ambience or service

    The staff was outstanding and very kind and professional. We had a least 3 mangers come by our table to see how everything was. The food was really good.

    We frequently visit Ruth Chris because it has everything we like... great food, excellent service, and an all-around great spot to be.

    We had a great experience. Our waiter, John, was most excellent. He was on top of it and we didn’t want for a thing. He was so so nice, friendly and funny. Very engaging with the guests. As usual, the food was outstanding.

    Anniversary dinner last night. The good: Cocktails, seating, salad, steak, wine and service. The bad: shrimp with steak medallions were overcooked, bartender had a bottle slip from his hand spilling cranberry juice all over us and the bar. The ugly: side dish of Brussels sprouts were almost inedible (the cost was removed from final bill)

    We had an absolutely amazing dinner! My husband and I were celebrating our new marriage, when we got to our table it was decorated with confetti and a beautiful card! We had the best view of the river and even saw a family of dolphins swimming by at sunset. The servers and management were so attentive and kind, plus the food was amazing! Thank you Ruth’s Chris for a memorable evening.
