    Overall, great experience. We've tried a number of steaks around SD, including S48 and Donovan's. Ruth is still better -- well seasoned, well aged, and while it is hot and has butter, it's not drenched in it. Appetizers are really very good -- The Ahi Tuna in particular, is spectacular. All sides are good, but they are typical. Atmosphere and service are really quite nice, with good views at sunset towards Torrey pines. It is a bit noisy, and it is common to have large groups with kids around. Maybe not the best for a romantic dinner for two, unless you specifically ask for a quiet table. Really love the steak!

    When it comes to reviews, I will definitely write and sing praises for businesses and restaurants that are amazing and go out of their way. But I will also write a review if the food or the service is unfortunately terrible I go to a lot of steakhouses here in San Diego and all over the country, and by far this honestly had to be the worst experience I’ve ever had. I’ve been in many times at Ruth Chris at different locations but this one was unfortunately beyond terrible. We went for a birthday and it was my guess. First time experiencing it and I spoke highly about Ruth Chris. unfortunately it didn’t start well from the beginning with her salad being extremely over whelmed with dressing so we returned it. We didn’t see our waiter very much during our dining. We ordered a fillet and a ribeye steak medium. Was way undercooked and my ribeye was undercooked as well. So that’s three strikes already by dinner. We had to bring the steaks back to be cooked properly. When we received the file bag, it was about 50% left for some reason they cut off almost half of it and my ribeye was so covered in butter and oil. I couldn’t even finish it at this point our server still really wasn’t coming back. I had to get the attention of the manager. He was very apologetic and actually gave us a free meal, which was nice of him to make things worse. The food was so oily and buttery that it actually was so overwhelming that my friend actually got sick when I got home now this could’ve been a rare one time problem. But again having to visit many many steak houses I’ve never had such a bad experience.

    We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Ruth Chris. Our anniversary was recognized to us at the front desk personnel as well as by our server Matt. Matt did an outstanding job of catering to our needs. We had a lovely evening and dinner. Our steaks were exceptional, they tasted great as did the sides we ordered. They have a large wine menu with excellent options from which to choose. If you want a terrific tasting steak,I recommend Ruth Chris for your dining experience.

    We love going to Ruth Chris. We usually sit in Patrick’s area. But on Labor Day we got Kelly. She was very attentive and just wonderful. The tomahawk steak was 🔥🔥🔥

    Ordered petite filet and ribeye. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Shared the wedge salad chopped and tossed. Not crazy about the arugula. I don't recall that in the salad on previous occasions. Sides were delish. Ordered the creamed spinach and au gratin potatoes. Shared the creme brulee.

    The food was great. The server was very welcoming and attentive. His assistant was very attentive.Two managers stopped by during our meal, which shows how much they value the opinions of their customers. It was a real nice evening.

    David was an amazing server! Great sense of humor, good recommendations on wine, very attentive to us, friendly and engaging with our young children… Never made us feel rushed or kept us waiting too long either. We enjoyed our time there! The food was delicious also!
