This was our first time dining at RPM Steak and it did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was fabulous and the service was top notch. We will definitely be back!

This dinner at RPM Steak was a disaster! We waited 45 minutes for an accessible table even after putting down a credit card deposit for the reservation. The hostess was incredibly rude and non-inclusive, sarcastically mocking me for asking to speak to the manager. After 5 minutes of excuses and blaming me for the long wait, he was able to find a table. He never apologized, never was empathetic. I am not surprised that we were the only table with a guest in a wheelchair that evening.

The steak was enjoyable—correctly cooked, flavorful, and tender. The Millionaire’s Potato was huge and tasty. The creme brulee was also good (and huge) and an interesting twist on a classic. But even if I lived in Chicago, I would not return because there are other top-rated steakhouses that offer a better experience. As a party of one, I could only eat in the bar. While I understand the reason (same as a singles supplement at a resort), I already felt like a less-valued patron. That feeling was intensified by the hostesses (who tried to seat me nearest the door) and the waitstaff, all of whom were passingly polite but seemed like they didn’t want to be there, let alone deal with solo customer. The french fries glistened with grease and tasted oily, both in flavor and texture. The waiter brought my chosen substitute but charged for that item. In fairness, another item was removed from the bill as compensation. I just found that odd. Finally, there was a small fee added to the bill to cover rising restaurant costs. The bill states that the customer can request this to be removed. I didn’t bother, paid, and left. It was overall not a wonderful experience, memorable for wrong reasons.

I have been here several times & it is always awesome. It is pricey but you get what you pay for. Excellent everything. A wonderful place to go if you want to pamper yourself and/or others.
