We were dining at Roy's on our last night on the Big Island and celebrating our 45th Anniversary. We are familiar with this particular restaurant because we ate here 10 years ago for our 35th Anniversary! My husband was particularly interested in the Butter Fish! It did not disappoint! However, I ordered the Argentinian Ribeye,med rare w/Cabernet Demi on the side . When my entrée arrived to the table it was very rare. Our waitress was very apologetic and returned the entire meal to the chef. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meal and were completely finished eating when my meal was returned to me at least 20 minutes later! My Steak was cooked perfectly this time however the Cabernet Demi was lathered all over my medium rare Steak! Our waitress again apologized and offered to have the Chef cook me another steak! I refused to let her take the steak away again! I ate the steak with the sauce on it, enjoyed the grilled Asparagus and the Mashed potatoes were very yummy! Our waitress filled my glass with another glass of Chardonnay which I enjoyed as well! Shexalso gave us a complimentary dessert for our Anniversary! The manager took my meal off our bill which was not necessary buy very much appreciated! The wait staff was friendly and could not have been more attentive despite the errors in the kitchen! We will return to a Roy's especially for the Butter Fish!

Service was amazing, wine recommendations perfect, food delicious. Always a treat to visit when on the Island.

We had an outstanding dinner at Roy’s. Our server named Heather was incredibly patient as we worked our way through the menu to determine what we wanted to have for dinner. We always ask for her when we have dinner there.

There was a green worm in my wife’s salad. We pointed out the worm to the manager and left the restaurant immediately. We couldn’t trust the quality of the food. It was undoubtedly the worst experience we had at a restaurant.

Expected to have Mahi Mahi and was offered pink snapper as the white fish choice - really. Wine pours are wimpy - not the best night at Roy's.

Sorry Charlie! Roy’s has a dull menu with fish, meat loaf, beef stew (short ribs off the bone) or lamb (sheep or mutton so large) shanks parading as exceptional but all quite limp. Butter fish dish served with cold rice; 21$ glass of Ridge Zin served warm. Pineapple cake dessert sounded good but reheated frozen took 30 minutes? The sides, bok choy and carrots were nice. But for $180+ to say the veggies and dessert were the best part of the meal says it all. I don't know how Roy"s has lasted some 44 years but our high expectations of its reputation said try it. We did. Not worth it. Take a pass.

あまり否定的な評価はしたくないのですが、今まで受けたサービスで最低です。2024年9月3日に行ったのですが、飲み物が終わっても、次の注文は聞きに来ないし、ポークとチキンを注文したのですが、韓国風なのか中国風なのか中途半端な味付けでした。おまけに店員同士で言い争いをしているような有り様で、チェックを頼んでも中々来ず、チップだけはしっかり要求されました。2年前に行ったことがあり、楽しみにしてたのですが、もう行きません。

Excellent food, prepared amazingly! The mac nut crusted ono with orzo that tasted like mac and cheese was out of this world. Cooked to perfection and worth every penny. Friendly service, we weren’t planning on spending that much on dinner but we went to a lesser restaurant that had prices that were the same and we decided to leave and spend the money at a place with skilled chefs, no regrets, worth it!
