We had a wonderful time at Roy’s San Diego Waterfront. Everything was delicious and our server was fantastic. The only issue we had was a group that was getting ready to leave when we got there, they were complaining and making a big fuss over nothing to the manager. They were obnoxious and we felt awful for the servers, manager and hostess. After they left, we spoke to some of the other tables and they said that behavior had been going on for hours and it was appalling. Luckily, we had a great experience after the group left. We had absolutely amazing service and the food was delicious.

Love the food, service and view, but the indoor seating was way too warm; made eating uncomfortable. It was a very warm evening, but the temperature needed to be cooler.

The server was good, but we never got our main meal… and we finally just paid for what we got and left. But the food we did get was very good.

Book Roy's for a family reunion dinner. Our entree's and appetizers were very good. We enjoyed ourselves. even with the noise level being much louder than island Roys.

Our server Katie was great. However, the kitchen was extremely slow with the main course. The appetizer came out quickly. We ordered the Lobster Potstickers and they were excellent. Katie was very apologetic about how long it was taking for the main course and offered us dessert. We did not have time for one and really didn't want one anyway. We did bring on own bottle of wine so they did not charge us the corkage fee. I thought my main course which was the special of the day was just ok. Overall, not a great Roy's experience. I have been to Roy's in Hawaii and it was excellent. I probably will not be back to this one again.

First off our server was the only bright spot Being our 1st visit to Roy’s and being our 7th Anniversary upon checking in at the hostess checking us seemed totally disgruntled with her job and the bus people not clearing the tables fast enough to get people seated. She did acknowledge that it was her anniversary we expressed we wanted the nicest table available inside or out and she took us to a table right near the kitchen with several large groups in an area that was extremely noisy. There were other tables available Water and beverages brought to her table, had no coasters and the condensation from my glasses at water all over our table We ordered the chefs signature dish. It was served lukewarm, and the appetizers took forever to be brought to a table My wife went to use the restrooms. They were filthy, and the stalls in the women’s restroom had numerous slots where other patrons could seeing the person using the restroom. Totally unacceptable. For a restaurant with a reputation and for the prices that were charged, which were rather high, but do the location in the holiday weekend not unexpected! I would rate this restaurant, very poor and more than likely never recommend it to any friends or relatives We have dined in comfortable restaurants and never addressed by the manager or seeing how our experience was, were this is usually a norm and another reason to see how poorly this restaurant is being run!!! Finally we stayed at the Marriott Marquis and I would be embarrassed. Do you even have an affiliation of a restaurant of this caliber connected to that fine hotel

The receptionist was cold and indifferent. She had no smiles or greetings when we showed up. It seems she didn’t like her job and didn’t want to work at all. We were led to a narrow 2 seater table even if I asked to get a bigger 4 seater table, she said that was reserved for someone who comes often and required to be there specifically. We were finally seated at the entrance area, still 2 seaters but with a little bigger table. Terrible receptionist for fine dining. The food quality is not matching the price. For a $69 shellfish sampler dinner, the amount and the quality is pathetic.
