From the team that brought the celebrated and award winning Vintage Tavern to Suffolk comes River Stone Chophouse. Featuring steaks and fresh seafood in a beautifully designed traditional craftsman-era architecture. Join us for a cocktail lounge and raw bar, then have dinner by the stone fireplace. River Stone demonstrates a unique commitment to providing special dining experiences to patrons and is excited to be the first Chophouse in Hampton Roads. River Stone features Hereford beef, a raw bar, fresh lobster and an extensive wine list to compliment the cuisine. Centrally located in Northern Suffolk, only minutes from five surrounding cities.
Late night dining is available in the bar as well as a lighter fare menu in the lounge. Happy Hour specials Monday to Friday 3-6pm. Reservations are recommended.

Everything was really good but not the best steak I’ve had. Had to add salt and pepper to everything. The Brussels sprouts were the star of the show. My husband and I were fighting over them lol. We had left overs of everything else and gave them to the kids to we didn’t waste our money. Service was great and the restaurant is a vibe. But for the price we expected more from the steak and Mac n cheese.

The food was delicious, but I’m afraid that our server was brand new. He was very pleasant and outgoing but it took him a very long time to take drink orders and then even longer to take our food order. We had leftovers which they box up and hold at the front - but he didn’t give us a ticket to claim the food.

Nice selection of house specialty drinks . Efficient staff . Excellent selection of seafood / steaks. Lobster stew was fantastic. Server was attentive and helpful.

LOVED IT !! Mr Bill was our server he was one of the most bestest servers we ever had !!!! Came down for my Birthday and was referred to this restaurant by a friend. The food was delicious and the grown folk drinks was made "right". ;-) Had even made the ending to my Birthday even greater with dessert and champagne for a toast. !! We will be back thanks again for making my Birthday a memorable one for the books !!! HEY MR. BILL a tip WELL DESERVED !!!

Service was not as attentive as in prior visits. Table settings did not match number of guests, food courses were stacked on each other, steak knives were not present concurrently with entrees, dishes were cleared while some guests were still eating, and no visible oversight by management . Service staff and managers need some remedial training on proper dining service etiquette. Noticeable deterioration from earlier times.

We had dinner at the River Stone Chophouse while in Suffolk for business. The food was outstanding. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned and delicious. We started the meal with the classic Old Fashioned cocktail which had just enough of a kick without being overwhelming. For food, some of our favorites were the salt and pepper calamari, the blackened Ahi tuna, and the Philly cheese steak spring rolls. They were served with sauces that paired just right and pickled garnishes that were just as delicious. The seared scallops with coconut sticky rice and Thai curry sauce were seared on the outside and creamy and tender on the inside and the sticky rice was just sweet enough to balance the slight heat from the curry sauce. For dessert we shared the cheesecake with bourbon peach sauce and it was the perfect way to end the meal. Our server was attentive enough to make sure we didn't need anything but didn't hover. He said he was new to the restaurant but his service was excellent. I would recommend River Stone Chophouse to anyone looking for a nice, delicious and relaxing meal.

The service was amazing. Nicole took care of our every need. They have a new executive chef, and honestly the food wasn’t quite as good as before.
