Situé en face d'une rivière, le restaurant et bar à aliments crus River House est une destination de choix à Louisville. Il est géré par le chef et restaurateur primé John Varanese et peut accueillir 330 convives dans sa salle à manger principale et son bar à aliments crus, ainsi que sur sa terrasse. Vous vous sentirez comme à la maison après avoir franchi la terrasse couverte du jardin. Vous traverserez un mur d'eau de 6 mètres de haut et de 12 mètres de large avant de découvrir la décoration intimiste et la baie vitrée qui donne sur la cour arrière et la rivière. Le River House est ouvert 7 jours par semaine pour le dîner et le souper. Le menu se compose d'une cuisine régionale avec une touche du Sud et une préférence pour les fruits de mer frais. Vous pourrez notamment y déguster des huîtres grillées en demi-coquille, des côtes de bœuf braisées au barbecue et du saumon fumé aux copeaux de baril de bourbon Maker’s Mark. The River House has always been one of out top choices to eat out. Food was very good and our server, Meghan, was so pleasant. Very efficient.

Atmosphere is nice. Prime location. Food leaves alot to be desired. Salmon portion is pathetically small. Added shrimp for $7 and got two shrimp…two. Wont be returning anytime soon.

The experience was exceptional. We arrived 15 mins earlier than our reservation and were seated immediately. Requested to eat outside closet to the water and they made that happen. The food was the best seafood I’ve had in a very long time. We will be back!

River House never disappoints. This is my 5th time there and it was perfect. Food, service, and atmosphere was top notch.

They greeted us by saying, “happy anniversary.” The food was delicious. Really good coffee! Our only regret was not having more room for dessert. We settled for the house made ice cream, the best ever. We have decided next time to go just for dessert and coffee.

The server may have been new and was “overly efficient” clearing plates while we were still eating, taking our drink order when we had barely sat down, asking about our entree order before we had any of our appetizers. We actually had to tell him we were not in a hurry. Especially after he took one of our plates while that guest was putting food in their mouth. Also he tried to bring the check before even asking about dessert. We were there for a birthday and there was zero acknowledgment of that. Efficiency is good but please teach the new staff to “read the table” a little bit more. Food was top notch and the view and location are one of our favorites…which was why it was chosen for a special occasion made quite run of the mill.

The 5 of us enjoyed our Sunday lunch on patio. Perfect for conversations and sharing good appetizers. Our waiter was attentive and very good in his descriptions on food and drink. We definitely will come again

The seafood here is fantastic as are the drinks. We really enjoyed our time eating, drinking and watching the river. We eat here every time we are in Louisville.

My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner and it was amazing. We started with the jumbo shrimp cocktail. Then had an amazing salad with a vanilla bean vinaigrette. Skillet cornbread was delicious, my husband had filet mignon with whipped potatoes and fried macaroni and cheese. I ordered the king crab leg and roasted brussels sprouts with country ham And Parmesan cheese shavings that was to die for. For dessert we had the chocolate peanut butter lava cake with vanilla bean ice cream. Everything was delicious. The service was outstanding. We had a wonderful evening and we will be going back again. This was not our first trip and it will not be our last.
