We are located in the middle of Prince's Island Park and we are accessed on foot via one of four bridges or causeways. Parking is available on street in the Eau Claire area, underground at Eau Claire Market for a flat fee of $3 on weekends and evenings, or across from Memorial Drive. D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Le River Café est à l'avant-garde du mouvement de restauration locavore depuis 1991. Situé dans le parc pittoresque de Prince Island, au bord de la rivière Bow, le décor rustique et le menu du restaurant s'inspirent de la nature environnante. Les ingrédients locaux et saisonniers sont à l'honneur dans des plats tels que le faux-filet d'agneau de la ferme Lambtastic et les courgettes de la ferme Sudo. It was a most wonderful lunch with a very dear friend! It was a celebration lunch of friendship and also the retirement of my surgical oncologist who I was going to one last time before he is done on December 23rd. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate that than at the River Cafe!! I had the Flank Steak and my friend had the burger and they were both truly exceptional!! The steak just melted in my mouth and the accompaniments were perfect! The burger was scrumptious…complete with juices running down your fingers as you ate it, as every good burger should be! We didn’t have room for dessert but a delicious cappuccino was still in order! It truly is a magical place to be…wonderful atmosphere, attentive & friendly staff and always mouth watering food!!

A Calgary icon that never disappoints. Service is excellent, attentive, and friendly. While on the pricier side, the food is excellent. Dessert was OK compared to the outstanding mains. Would always recommend a visit to travellers to Calgary.

Service was wonderful, cocktails delicious. The Haida Gwaii halibut was super fishy, we couldn’t eat it. Pancakes and eggs benny with mushrooms were good. Won’t rush back but our server really was helpful and sweet.

We've been going to River Cafe for awhile now and it has always been our favorite restaurant. We went recently for my partner's birthday and notice the quality, taste and presentation of food is so much different than what it was before. The service and experience has been exceptional tho.

Amazing experience. It is a very unique restaurant and I recommand it to everyone. The food is amazing and the price was reasonable.

Always great. The River Cafe has consistently impresses me every time I go there. Food is excellent and the service is always spot on. Has been a gem for so many years.

An outstanding tasting menu, with outstanding wine pairings, and outstanding service. Well worth the frigid walk in inappropriate dress and footwear! Best tartare we’ve ever had, and the pirogies were to die for.

We arrived on time for our reservation on a very cold night. The restaurant was very busy & buzzy which was a good sign (we thought). Our server did her very best but was hassled. Water came immediately and then we sat. We managed to order cocktails and then we sat. When we finally managed to order food (shared appetizer & 2 main courses), our appetizer came in about 15 minutes (hummus straight out of the refrigerator). It obviously had needed no prep. And was very cold so relatively tasteless. We then waited a full hour before our lukewarm main courses arrived. The duck was good, the boar belly was tough & dry and on some sort of crepe. We decided against dessert or coffee. The wine list was good. Overall we liked our server - she knew what she was doing. Her station just had too many covers, I think. The kitchen was obviously overwhelmed. Not sure if we would give The River Cafe a second chance.
