Welcome to Alkemē where dining is a unique culture-to-table experience. We are honored to be a 2024 James Beard Award Best New Restaurant Semifinalist!

Our food menu is Asian heritage cuisine reimagined. Chef-Owner Hue-Chan Karels and Executive Chef Erica Tai are reinterpreting heirloom recipes from their culinary roots of Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea, and Hawaii’s Pacific Rim to create dishes that are innovative yet steeped in tradition and culture. We offer 3 tasting menus, a seasonal a la carte menu, and a full-liquor beverage menu with creative cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.

Our patio is open from Spring through Fall. Our indoor dining space has 3 dining rooms & a bar:

> Dawn Dining Room is warm and inviting and can seat large parties from 6 to 14

An incredible experience, start to finish. I chose Alkemē to celebrate my 50th birthday and am so glad I did. My partner and I chose the "sexy" red + black dining room in the back. It was perfect, quiet + cozy, although noise levels in every section of the restaurant seemed low. Chef-Owner Hue Chan Karels stopped by to greet us while we enjoyed excellent cocktails. I only wish I could've seen her or executive chef Erica Tai later to explicitly thank them for my favorite dishes. I had the fish focused Tasting Menu 2 + sake pairing. Every sake was on point and I was excited to experience several new-to-me brews (I've been a sake taster & know this spirit well). We enjoyed engaging with our excellent server who informed us of interesting details about each selection. One of the many standouts was the tuna poke in Indian "street food vessels," essentially a pakora like sphere. I don't know how they achieved the crispy exterior around raw fish! It was excellent and a delightful gastronomic surprise. The kitchen accommodated my gluten allergy so I could enjoy the lotus leaf wrapped halibut, which I so appreciated. The tamari-ginger sauce elevated the tasty fish even further. In the prior dish, the turmeric dill cod, the flavors of pickled onions, apples and herbs offered a sweet new take on a familiar combination. My partner's ala carte choices were also excellent. He enjoyed extra bao sliders for breakfast the next morning and commented that he'd order them for this 1st meal on the regular! We ended with 2 desserts, one complimentary for my bday and enjoyed in full the next morning: Vietnamese coffee and coconut jelly was a saucy, tangy delight to start the day. Overall, a beautiful perfect meal in a lovely setting with excellent service from all. Let Alkemē's solid 5 stars encourage you to visit and dine here often. Santa Fe, let alone northern NM, has nothing else remotely like this, nor as tantalizing. Please enjoy and keep it available for years to come. Brava!

A truly refined, unique and excellent experience all around. The food is fantastic - including the option to choose from à la carte or tasting menus (and some take out options, too!) -; service is attentive, warm and professional; and the dining areas are warm, inviting and adapt easily to groups of various sizes. Bonus points for the pet friendly patio!

We had an excellent experience with our tasting menus. We tried the meat and seafood-based options and both were delicious. The service was exceptional and very accommodating when we had a slight time limit on our meal.

I ordered the $95 tasting menu #1. The food was tasty but so overloaded with pepper and fish sauce and vinegar that it began to disguise the taste of the food. The dipping sauces were especially salty.The flavors were good on their own without the sauces. I felt that the set prices menu was a little pricey and my husband ordered the shaking beef alone which was $52. I was shocked that by the time I added the tip it was well over $200. Service was excellent and since it was a Tuesday night, happily quiet. I would return and maybe order one or two smaller plates next time.

Our 4th dinner at this outstanding restaurant. An exception in Santa Fe dining with Michelin level food preparation. Competes with, if not exceeds, the experience at the few other Santa Fe high end restaurants.

This was our second trip to Alkeme and the special occasion was our 48th wedding anniversary. We selected Alkeme as we lived in Singapore for three years and loved Alkeme's take on food from southeast Asian countries. Our server Mollie was wonderful and when she learned we didn't need much coaching on WHAT to order, she quickly shifted to the order of delivery and what to expect from each dish. We are not afraid of "heat" so two orders of the Chili Oil Paste were just right for us! We started with the French Inspired Vietnamese Rice Crepe to accompany our Lucky Dog IPA and Alchemist Silver Coin cocktail. We then moved on to the "you MUST order this" Sweet and Spicy Korean Fried Chicken which we had enjoyed on our first visit a month ago. Finally, we had the Northern Vietnamese Street Food Grilled Pork and Rice Noodles with a side (quite large!) of Sauteed Garlic Bok Choy. Everything was fresh, hot and fragrant. We sat outside and enjoyed the night air and sky and look forward to our next visit. The staff is great, the food is consistent and perfectly presented.

What a gem of a find ! We loved absolutely everything about this place. Owner and chef Hue Chan Kareles made Us feel personally welcomed, and we were so glad to order the tasting menu . We loved the pho sho and Seoul fashioned cocktails too! Highly recommend!
