Le Rebirth est la seule destination du Warehouse District à proposer une cuisine cajun-créole sur le principe de la ferme à l'assiette. Le chef Ricky Cheramie, originaire du sud de la Louisiane, crée une nourriture réconfortante. Vous pourrez notamment déguster le flanc de porc de style barbecue du Mississippi, les pétoncles noircis accompagnés d'un maque choux tasso au homard et la crème brûlée au café au lait avec calas et grains de café enrobés de chocolat noir. Le restaurant presse aussi son propre jus de canne à sucre pour confectionner des sirops simples, des vinaigrettes et de la laque moutardée à la créole.

Enjoyed the evening greatly. Unassuming building with inviting interior and we chose to eat at the bar. Ordered from the Coolinary menu as it had what we wanted. Gumbo and warm Brie salad starters, both very good. I had the fish of the day (mahi) and it was very well prepared and cooked to a flakey, moist succulence. However, the Chicken & Mirliton Rochambeau is the type of dish one comes back for. It was excellent. Bread pudding distinguished itself in a city that knows bread pudding and the crème brûlée was good and very sweet. Our experience was elevated by our bartender and server, Giuseppe, who shared bar tips with us (not the monetary type). And manager Riley was present and warm throughout the meal. Definitely a revisit in the stars.

The food and service were fantastic. My husband and I celebrated my birthday. Rebirth was participating in New Orleans Coolinary Week. The option that they offered all looked delicious it was a task to decide on which appetizer, entree and dessert to order. Rebirth’s food was so delicious as well as their cocktails. You have to give Rebirth a try when you are in New Orleans.

We ordered from the Coolinary menu and we were really looking forward to it. The food was fine, but less than we expected based on reviews and on the descriptions on the menu. The gumbo was easily the best dish and the shrimp in the shrimp and eggplant was probably the freshest I’ve ever had. But beyond that, it seemed like our dishes were either missing something, or just had a lot less of certain things. For example, the Brie and Blackberry salad only had 2 blackberries and the dressing seemed to be mostly olive oil, not roasted apple walnut vinaigrette. The fish only had three tiny gnocchi and the folks who had the pork chops weren’t certain that the Brabant potatoes were on the plate. The Chicken and Merliton Rochambeau only had a small leg quarter, not the quarter and breast listed in the description. For a farm to table based restaurant, there was very little veg on any of our plates. Service was good, and cocktails were very good. I hate to be nitpicky, but we’ve been to a number of other, comparable restaurants for Coolinary, and Rebirth just wasn’t as good. Looking at reviews, I’m thinking we may have just hit them on an off night.

Party of 6, Saturday PM dinner. The 1st impression is that the restaurant was warm, not hot but definitely not cool. We were greeted and welcomed by the GM, nice touch. Service was initially attentive. Water and cocktails came quickly.as did the 1st 2 courses, apps and entrees. This was an hour + into it. Then…..a 20 minute wait for dessert accompanied by the disappearance of our waitress. 15 minutes into that wait she reappeared (knowing it had been a long time) to tell us our desserts SHOULD be served soon. They showed up 5 minutes after that along with the check with no apologies, even from the affable GM who passed by the table several times. Since we had a table of 6 a 20% service charge was added to the bill. Not 18% but 20%. We typically would tip 20-25% for good service so no big deal but it was disappointing that no said anything about the long delay.

Our out of town guests wanted to try some new restaurants during Coolinary, so we took them to Restaurant Rebirth, where we had enjoyed magnificent meals in the past. When we arrived we were told their a/c was out, though they had a number of fans going which helped a lot. We all ordered from the Coolinary menu, and while some of the portions were smaller than normal, the food was tasty. My husband continues to say it’s the best gumbo in the city! Our server Paisley was excelled.

Had a great time, food was great minus the HORRIBLE potatoes. Fried okra and oysters were bomb! Very quaint environment

Nice little cozy restaurant. General Manager was very involved with customers and helpful with staff. Food did not disappoint. The pork belly with greens was the best appetizer I've ever had. Ribeye was very seasoned and cooked to perfection. I would recommend a thousand and one times.
